Immigration law adviser of Indian nationality arrested over fake papers scam, immigration should be fair but punishments more draconian for abusers

Dear All

Illegal immigration is a serious problem.

We have a clear duty to help asylum seekers who suffer persecution and most right thinking would agree with that.

The other side of the immigration debate is the illegal side; people try to enter the country that has no legal right to be here.

There is a black market in illegal immigration which the UK Border Agency along with other Agencies is trying to stop.

Human trafficking is big business and profitable.

The scam of getting entry via the student visa is well known, where people gain entry and then go onto work illegally.

Viewers can see this on various TV programmes showing the work of UK Border Agency where the ‘student’ can’t remember what courses they are supposed to be doing and their attendance at college is zero.

There are reckoned to be about 1,000,000 illegal people in this country.

Today see the UK Border Agency arrest an immigration law adviser suspected of helping hundreds of illegal immigrants stay in the country.

The 40-year-old is an accredited legal adviser for immigration law. He stands accused of making hundreds of thousands of pounds heading what Police are calling "a significant organised criminal network".

The Indian national is alleged to have supplied false documents and payslips allowing them to remain in the UK.

Identity theft is also a major industry.

The man was arrested along with his wife in a dawn raid at their three-bedroom semi-detached house in Hayes.

Outside was parked a Mercedes and an Audi in the drive. Inside the house officers found £10,000 in cash which throws up questions regarding money laundering.

Who has £10,000 in cash lying around in their house?

As well as the Indian national and his wife, four other suspects where arrested at various addresses in London.

The Police say:

"This man stands accused of helping hundreds of people get in to the country illegally. Legitimate immigration advisers charge around £500, but people doing it illegally can charge thousands."

It is thought many of those alleged to have been helped were young students from India.
But are they still students?

Immigration minister Damian Green said:

"Today's operation is one of many being carried out across the country The UK Border Agency is stepping up its efforts to disrupt the activities of people involved in immigration crime."

The fines for employing illegal workers can run into thousands of pounds but even this hasn’t stemmed the flow or employers willing to employ cheap illegal labour.

More draconian measures and procedures are needed to give employers incentives to check employees properly.

If the Indian national is found to be guilty, he should be sentenced to prison, deported for life and all his assets seized.

And that treatment should be standard across the board for everyone involved in this type of crime.

Yours sincerely
