Immigration is bad say 63 per cent of whites, 43 per cent of Asians and 17 per cent of black Britons, Labour's fault, a total failure of planning

Dear All

Immigration is a good thing but as the old saying goes too much of a good thingcan be a bad thing.

The problem with immigration is the unacceptable way that the last Labour Government allowed it to spiral out of control as they allowed a social engineering experiment, under the guise of ‘assisting the economy’.

The Labour Party lied to the people of the UK.

This ‘experiment’ put pressure on jobs, housing and services and in some areas Councils said that they were struggling to cope.

If you mention immigration control, then you find yourself in the territory of ‘race politics’.

To speak out can lead to be being branded a racist, the idea is quite simple, people get ‘labelled’ by political parties so that they can be dismissed from the debate.

In Britain, we have seen the unacceptable rise of the ‘race politician’ who use race as a campaigning tool to get them into public office.

Labour MP Diane Abbott is a classic example of this.

But immigration should not be a race issue; it should be solely an economic issue.

Race politicians and their supporters have recently received some bad news via the Searchlight Educational Trust.

More Asians are now opposed to immigration than white Britons according to a new poll.

The poll reveals that opposition to new arrivals now transcends race.

It always did in my opinion, only opportunists hijack it for personal gain.

Research commissioned by the Searchlight Educational Trust found that 39 per cent of Asians, 34 per cent of whites and 21 per cent of blacks believed immigration should be halted either permanently or at least until the UK's economy was back on track.

Regardless whether you are black, white or Asian, people are coming to realise that the ‘open door’ mentality isn’t sustainable.

Or desirable, how can we tell youngsters they have a future then at the same time cut the legs from under them.

The findings are a stunning rebuke to the last Labour government of both Blair and Brown.

They deliberately opened the doors to untrammelled immigration and then sought to brand voters ‘bigots’ who questioned the pace of change.
The report, titled Fear and Hope: The New Politics Of Identity, reveals that a large proportion of voters, across all races and communities, now have concerns about immigration.

Immigration is seen as a bad thing for the UK by 63 per cent of whites, 43 per cent of Asians and 17 per cent of black Britons.

Add to that the failure of mainstream parties to speak out properly about immigration has left opened the door for a new far right party.

That ground is there to be claimed, but for mainstream parties it is fraught with difficulty.

Having jumped on the ‘race bandwagon’, they face the prospect of trying to get off.

Labour MP Jon Cruddas said the research showed a new approach to immigration was needed.

But the UK boat has already sailed, we now need an EU wide policy, when the EU was 7 states this issue wasn’t a problem, now it is 27, we have a big problem.

This Tory Government needs to take this up directly at the heart of Europe.

The Searchlight Educational Trust said the report 'throws down a challenge' to mainstream political parties.

Events in Libya and elsewhere show how a government can quickly slide if the people are continually ignored.

In Britain, this danger means parties like the BNP gain at the expenses of the mainstream.

The report’s author Nick Lowles said young people are more open to living in an ethnically diverse society as they should be but there are dark clouds on the horizon for the political class.

He said:

“This report gives those of us who are campaigning against extremism nowhere to hide. The harsh truth is we are in danger of losing touch with the public on race, immigration and multiculturalism. The attitude of all sections of the community to these complex issues is now running far ahead of the politicians and community leaders.”

The multiculturalism experiment is dead as it presently stands because it wasn’t managed properly.

Labour MP Jon Cruddas said the findings should ‘ricochet through the body politic’ as they showed the potential for the rise of the far-right unless mainstream parties acted soon.

In a foreword to the report, he wrote:

“Put simply, unless political parties step up and provide a new language of material well-being, of identity and belonging, then these political forces might refract into more malign forms. As such, the political class has been warned.”

All the people of Britain regardless of colour have spoken, they are all saying the same thing; they need for controlled immigration.

But the debate is confined to these shores, its too late for that; it is now an EU wide debate that is needed.

This means major repairs and not just a botched patch up job.

Yours sincerely

Libya unrest: UK Foreign Minister William Hague says Gaddafi must go, it is time to 'get off the fence' and send in UN Peacekeepers

Dear All

William Hague, British Foreign Sec has called on Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to go.

Astonishing that he has got off the fence, it must be safe.

Governments around the world have condemned attacks on Libyan civilians. So, it is now time to send in UN Peacekeepers.

But we are sitting on the fence on that issue at present.

Things are moving fast and so should the international community; the time to go is now!

Speaking at a UN human rights conference in Geneva, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the violence should cease immediately.

If the Russians are onboard, what is the problem?

People are getting killed and others forced from their homes are stranded without food and water.

The humanitarian argument for going in is already been made in Libya.

Muammar Gaddafi still very much in control in Tripoli but the rest of the country is pretty much in the hands of the protestors and the international community has come down on their side.

The US has publicly backed anti-Gaddafi groups in eastern Libya as well. That is the UN entry point for humanitarian relief.

Speaking on her way to the meeting, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Washington was "reaching out to many different Libyans in the east".

At the Geneva meeting, UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay warned the Libyan authorities that widespread attacks on civilians could amount to crimes under international law.

Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd called for a no-fly zone to protect the Libyan people, and said Col Gaddafi should depart.

He said:

"The peoples of the entire world are saying 'go'. And for the sake of humanity, 'go now'."

At least 1,000 people are believed to have been killed during nearly two weeks of violence in which eastern cities have fallen to anti-government forces.

Gaddafi is threatening to open up the arms depots to civilians loyal to him, more people will die if action is forthcoming.

Since there is no rebel army to make the 1,600km (1,000-mile) journey across the desert to storm Col Gaddafi's last stronghold, Tripoli, the job falls to the international community.

Late on Saturday the UN Security Council unanimously backed an arms embargo and asset freeze on senior Libyan government officials.

It also voted to refer Col Gaddafi to the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.

If the world is backing the protestors, the time act is now, the longer this goes on, the less stable the country will become, we cannot have another Iraq debacle.

By doing nothing on the ground, we only help Gaddafi and allow him to gain the upper hand, then were will the international community be?

Looking rather foolish and weak!

Yours sincerely

Holyrood needs rude awakening, says Jack McConnell on his way out the doors to the House of Lords, the ‘veggies’ must change and speak!

Dear All

It saddens me greatly to say this in public.

Jack McConnell is right (but then a broken watch is right twice a day).

The Scottish Parliament has been accused of lacking seriousness and of resembling a tourist attraction rather than a debating chamber.

This sorry situation has developed because some MSPs are incapable of debate so they sit behind their Party leaders as the cannon fodder they undoubtedly are.

Just making up the numbers!

And when they do on a rare occasion are allowed to speak, they generally have nothing of interest to say.

You can find better pub conservations than Holyrood ones.

In a Spitting Image sketch, years ago, Margaret Thatcher is sitting with the Tory Cabinet having dinner; she is asked by the waitress what she will have. She says, ‘I’ll have the steak’.

The waitress replies:

‘What about the ‘vegetables’?

Thatcher says:

‘They’ll have the same’.

Not only do some MSP not have the ability to ask the difficult questions, they can’t blurt out the simple ones.

McConnell said of Holyrood that some of its rules are "ludicrous" with ministers who should be pinned down by MSPs on policy receiving little or no scrutiny in question sessions that are "rarely lively or interesting".

I have been saying cannon fodder for some time now!

George Laird was right again.

So, Lord McConnell of Glencorrosdale finds a voice, pity is that he should have used it years ago.

Now, on the way out the door he sings like a canary but then he has another ‘branch’ to hop onto.

The House of Lords!

McConnell also damns the parliamentary timetable as too casual, noting there are large parts of the week when the supposed cockpit of Scottish democracy has hardly any politicians in it.

Yes, there are a lot of empty seats, fills up for FMQs then they all disappear. He said:

"As people are walking round it should be obvious that they are in a parliament, not in a museum or a gallery."And as a ‘backhander’ he says that he was ‘shocked’ that the Lords is often far more interesting and lively than Holyrood, and does a better job holding the Executive to account.

If he had ever watched the BBC coverage, then he would know this along time ago.

McConnell therefore has decided to write to the Presiding Officer at Holyrood and all the Scottish party leaders calling for a complete overhaul of the way the parliament operates.

His letter to the Presiding Officeron reform has several recommendations for example when the government loses a vote, he advised, the relevant minister must be forced to make a statement.

He declared:

"I think it has been ludicrous for the last four years that regularly they (the Scottish Government] have lost votes in the chamber and never had to come and make a statement to parliament about how they would respond to that."

But the real scandal is that the full parliament only meets for a day and a half, he says it should be doubled to a three day week.

He added:

"It is just simply wrong that something can happen on a Thursday night and the first time you get a chance to raise it is the next Wednesday afternoon."Of FMQ’s he was indignant:

"Ministerial questions is the worst failing of the current parliamentary structure. Question times are largely ignored, rarely interesting or lively, serve almost no purpose in holding ministers to account and have no topicality."

And in a direct attack to the cannon fodder, he said that there should be an assumption that MSPs do not read from prepared scripts.

That is embarrassing, bullet points are fine, school reading class not fine!

And the time limits imposed mean that MSPs can be told to sit down before they had finished their speeches, in some cases this is a ‘mercy killing’ but there are a few real politicians apposed to party hacks who have entered parliament on the list system.

The ‘public unelectable’ are killing the place.

In a reply to McConnell, Alex Fergusson said he had "some sympathy with some of the points you raise - as I'm sure do other members".

The list system should be scrapped so that every MSP has to fight for a constituency seat.

Second class and second rate list MSPs don’t serve our democracy.

Yours sincerely

Government Ministers pave the way for secret vote to oust the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, MPs disgrace Parliament by pettiness

Dear All

The position of Speaker in the House of Commons is supposed to be a highly respected position.

Unfortunately the current Speaker John Bercow and the previous Speaker Michael Martin have soiled that position.

Labour MP Michael Martin was the first Speaker in 300 years to be ousted and quite rightly so.

He wasn’t so much the Speaker of the House rather he made himself the ‘Shop steward’ of the House.

His conduct during the Expenses Scandal by blocking information was a disgrace as was him getting a peerage.

As much as I like to see working class people rise in society, he didn’t have the intelligence to rise with it.

He has put back the cause of working class people achieving high office.

After he was forced to quit, the Labour Party as part of a scorched earth policy decided to act unprofessionally by delivering to the Tories what I can only describe as ‘F*ck you’ by voting in John Bercow.

Tit for tat!

Tories had run a campaign against Martin and this was their payback by Labour MPs.

Instead of Bercow being a safe pair of hands, he has proven to be problematic at best.

And the conduct of his wife a Labour MP in posing in a bed sheet disgraced Parliament, she thought it was 'fun'.

Tradition is important; standards are important and exercising good self judgement.

Now, Government Ministers have given the green light to a new attempt by MPs to oust Commons Speaker John Bercow.

Members of the Cabinet have revealed they will cooperate with a plan to change Parliamentary rules so the Speaker can be kicked out by secret ballot.

And I would suspect that if Bercow was put to a vote, he wouldn’t have much in the way of support.

The reason for the secret ballot is to allow MPs to remove the unpopular Speaker without them having to put their heads above the parapet.

There is a lot of anti Bercow feeling and discontent in the House of Commons; he is accused of bias against the Tories.

And they by their actions fuel this feud which should have been stamped out by David Cameron and wasn’t, he allowed it to fester.

Conservative Party managers have decided to give MPs a free vote on plans to change the rules and bring in a secret ballot.

MPs on the procedure committee are expected to bring forward a motion to change the rules before the summer recess.

Backbenchers could then use the Commons backbench business committee to demand the Government provides Parliamentary time for a debate and vote on the motion.

The committee controls the subject for Commons debate on 35 days a year, and was recently used to force the vote on prisoner voting rights. If the latest motion is passed as most MPs expect it to be the way would be clear for a challenge to Mr Bercow.

However, who to replace Bercow with?

This isn’t as easy as it sounds, there isn’t a clear candidate hanging about the green benches who stands out.

Isn’t it time that the position of Speaker wasn’t held by an MP?

The position of Speaker has been lower by the conduct of Michael Martin and John Bercow and the antics of MPs generally.

We need someone of the calibre of Betty Boothroyd, unfortunately such talent is very thin on the ground.

The current situation with Bercow is untenable, partly his fault, partly party leaders and whips.

It is a disgrace that they have destroyed such a position of authority.

Yours sincerely

Labour Councillor Stephen Curran displays serious lack of judgement over new police HQ, trying to boost his political C.V. for Holyrood

Dear All

The new single Scottish National Police Force.

It is time for the Scottish Government to get off the fence and declare publicly that this change is happening.

Let’s end the speculation and get into details.

The upshot of the delay is that the Labour Party at it again, it wants white elephant projects for the sake of it.

This has lead to Government Minister demanding that plans for new headquarters for Scotland’s largest police force be shelved.

The chairman of Strathclyde Police’s governing body is Labour Councillor of shame Stephen Curran, who is a candidate in the Glasgow Southside seat for Holyrood.

He will want to spend public money so he can add this to his political C.V, and if it is a mess, he will simply step back and blame someone else.

Blame uncertainty on the part of the Scottish Government.

He ‘wants his cake and eat it’.

The intervention comes as there is cross-party disquiet within Strathclyde Police Authority over the proposed move and the decision to invest £350,000 on top of £650,000 already spent on a detailed business plan for the project.

Labour loves pouring money at projects without intellectual rigour, money isn’t the solution, calling a halt is, everyone knows that of the options on the table, the single force is the preferred option.

If Labour Councillor Stephen Curran can’t see that it demonstrates a serious lack of political and professional judgement.

The new building is said to be sited on a brownfield site close to the epicentre of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

As well as that the Labour controlled Police Authority has been spending money like it is going out of fashion in a new police office in Renfrew, new cells at Kilmarnock and a new facility in Drumchapel, Glasgow.

Senior force insiders accuse the Scottish Government of interfering in operational policing matters.

They say it is down to Chief Constable Steve House and his authority to decide on whether a new HQ is right for the west of Scotland.

At the present time and considering the financial situation, it is also right that those making these decisions should also show some kind of initiative and forward thinking.

A police source said:

“The reason we’re going for a new HQ is that it makes operational sense and it’s the chief constable who decides on what makes operational sense. If we want policing to be the best it can be it needs the best facilities and that isn’t Pitt Street.”

You will make do with what you have until such time as the Scottish National Police Force comes on line and if Stephen House wants to throw his hat into the ring to be the first Chief Constable of the new national force he’d better start looking to the future.

If he goes ahead with this, I don’t see any point of him applying for the position of Chief Constable, however lesser positions maybe available.

He shouldn’t get involved in Labour Councillor Stephen Curran’s political ambitions for Holyrood.

Yours sincerely

Human rights abusing Glasgow University linked to organisation said to be defrauding low-income students, corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli Principal

Dear All

Another fresh Scandal at human rights abusing Glasgow University lead by corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli hard on the heels of Scottish companies being banned from tendering for work at the University.

The University of Glasgow has links to Kaplan College, an organisation which is said to be defrauding low-income students in the US.

Human rights abusing Glasgow University has also been involved in defrauding people on low incomes as well.

http://glasgowunihumanrights.blogspot.com/2009/08/glasgow-university-senior-management.html

An email was sent to me as a human rights campaigner by chance which lead me to cover the extensive Glasgow University link.

Here is the text:

“Dear George,

Here's how the Washington Post Company makes billions of dollars:
Veterans, single moms, and working parents are lured in by admissions counselors at Kaplan University Online (a for-profit college owned by the Post). Students use federal loans to sign up for classes that can be 14 times more expensive than a comparable community college class.

It's basically a scam. Sixty-nine percent of students drop out. A third of students default on their loans, meaning taxpayers are stuck with the bill and the students have their credit destroyed -- while Kaplan keeps all the money.

Shannon Croteau, for example, was 11 classes away from a degree from Kaplan when she learned she was out of financial aid, $30,000 in debt, and that the degree she was working toward would be worthless in her state of New Hampshire.

She was billed for loans she never signed up for, enrolled in classes she didn't choose and, when she complained, was given the runaround by a succession of fake "loan officers." "They lied and cheated," Shannon told Change.org. "It has ruined me."

Shannon has started a petition on Change.org, demanding that the Washington Post Company change its practices or shut down Kaplan Online. More than 10,000 of us have already joined her. Click here to add your name.

A Kaplan University training manual uncovered by Senator Tom Harkin told employees: "If you can help them uncover their true pain and fear...You dramatically increase your chances of enrolling this prospective student." A separate presentation to employees declared that single African-American mothers raising two children were the most profitable, because they were the most likely to drop out.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office even found last year that Kaplan and other for-profit schools "encouraged fraud and engaged in deceptive and questionable marketing practices."

Instead of investigating these practices, the Post has instead tried to cover it up, personally attacking Shannon -- even publicly disclosing her personal financial information in an effort to discredit her.

Shannon isn't backing down -- she's widened her campaign to target the entire Washington Post board, which includes billionaire Warren Buffett; Columbia University President Lee Bollinger; and former General Motors CEO G. Richard Wagoner.

With a surge of attention, we can pressure the Washington Post Company to get out of the business of preying on people's dreams of better educations and better careers.

Please take action today to tell the Washington Post Company to stop the predatory practices or shut down Kaplan University:

http://www.change.org/petitions/view/tell_kaplan_the_washington_post_stop_cashing_in_on_low-income_students?alert_id=CiAruIYDKB_UbcrDUSPRA&me=aa

Thanks for taking action,

Judith and the Change.org team”

Further investigation by me uncovered this link:

http://www.kic.org.uk/en/Colleges/Glasgow-International-College.html

This shows that Glasgow University and Kaplan are connected.

Why is Glasgow University supporting an organisation which is alleged to be defrauding low income students?

You can ask the corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli at principal@glasgow.ac.uk

Two educational institutions and they both with allegations of defrauding the poorest in society against them, no smoke without fire?

Libyan crackdown 'escalates' as the US and EU sits on the sidelines as Gaddafi slaughters his people, the UN needs to send peacekeepers now

Dear All

If there was ever a need for a UN Peace Keeping Force to enter a country, it is surely now.

Libya is in chaos, and the West is just sitting on the sidelines as the death count rises, their only concern on their agenda, get their countrymen out.

Very noble but what about those left behind?

The Libyan people are getting killed as Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi unleashes his paid mercenaries and army units still loyal to him on his own people.

People are getting killed just for looking out their windows by thugs.

The east of the country is in the hands of the protestors; Gaddafi holds Tripoli and other parts in the west.

More and more of his government are defecting or resigning, the regime is in its death throes.

Recent TV and radio programmes used by Gaddafi to try and restore order are increasingly bizarre.

Hour long uncomfortable rants.

The UN must send peace keepers into the west of the country to liaison with the protestors so as to try and restore food supplies and medical services.

There is a need to assist what will be the new regime as civic government needs to get back on its feet.

And the need for all this is now.

In the past, the West has blotted its copy book; Iraq and Afghanistan have been complete international failures by western democracy.

We need to help the Libyan people by way of sanctions, no fly zones, aid and the UN.

And the need for all this is now.

The UK and France are pushing for an arms embargo and a war crimes investigation.

The time for putting a toe in the water has passed; we need to dive fully in.

Prime Minister David Cameron said:

"People working for this regime... should remember that international justice has a long reach and a long memory."

And so do others who see the international community stand on the sidelines like Britain, the US hasn’t made its mind up as Obama is having a think, the time to go help is now.

The hold up is Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our failure there was extreme.

The US and Britain like to stroll the world stage as the ‘World’s Policemen’, so why are the Police standing by watching the killings?

President Obama make a decision quick, too many people are dying while you’re pondering whether to act.

Go to the UN and get all members of the Security Council to sign off on a UN Peace Keeping Force.

The time of Muammar Gaddafi is over.

Yours sincerely

Labour MP Michael McCann’s friendship prompts council planning concern, especially when his 'pal' could pocket £20 million in a land deal

Dear All

The Labour Party has always had a cosy relationship with Labour donors.

Labour donors give money to the Labour Party and somewhere down the line some Labour donors seem to benefit from either council contracts or in some other way finanical.

There has been a demand for a criminal investigation into the planning process of one of Scotland's biggest councils.

South Lanarkshire!

No guesses, it’s a Labour Council of Shame.

Currently, there is a BBC investigation into the relationships between a millionaire developer and senior Labour politicians.

The investigation as it stands revealed allegations that Michael McCann, the new Labour MP for East Kilbride, Strathhaven and Lesmahagow, has had an undeclared relationship with local property tycoon and Labour donor James Kean.

McCann did not declare a relationship whilst he was a councillor.

The test on where he should is, would any reasonable person expect him to.

And given money is involved in developments, any reasonable person would expect the relationship to be declared.

At the time McCann was serving on the planning and estates committees in South Lanarkshire.

During McCann's tenure numerous applications related to Mr Kean came before committee.

And he said nothing about his relationship to Kean.

As well as that the BBC after doing a little digging found that as an MP, McCann vigorously intervened in a supermarket planning dispute.

Kean could end up making millions of pounds on that.

The MP wrote a letter detailing some 33 specific questions.

Kean also is connected to Labour Councillor Jim Docherty, he is Godfather to his child.

Docherty is an influential member of the planning and estates committee and he has never declared this relationship either.

As he supported dozens of Kean's proposals at committee meetings!

Is there enough evidence for a criminal investigation?

I would say what is in the public domain doesn’t warrant this.

But there is a case for referral to the Standards Commissioner for Councillors and at Westminster too.

Police enquiries must be based on evidence not speculative voyages of discovery.

A spokesman for South Lanarkshire Council said:

"If the BBC is in possession of evidence that shows that any member of the council or employee acted in a way that was illegal, the council asks that this is provided to it as soon as possible, or, if appropriate, to the police”.

He added:

"All decisions on applications for planning consent must be taken solely on planning merits, and councillors who sit on the planning committee have received appropriate training in this aspect."

Whether any Councillor decides to be corrupt remains as always a matter for the individual Councillor.

Yours sincerely

Human rights abusing Glasgow University in dramatic climb down as ‘illegal’ contract which bans Scottish Firms from Uni tendering exposed

Dear All

Human rights abusing Glasgow University has had a change of mind.

Scottish PR firms can now bid for a worldwide fundraising campaign to increase donations from former students.

This is a familiar tactic of Glasgow University when its corrupt practices are exposed, they backtrack.

A spokesman for Glasgow University said:

“After listening to the concerns from a number of sources within the public relations and marketing sector, we have chosen to halt the process and remove the threshold entirely. We will retain the exacting criteria to ensure we find the best possible candidates for this project.”

The light of public scrutiny does have that effect on them.

Corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli and Glasgow University senior management will be keen to kill this story that Scottish companies are not good enough because of the current make up of the Scottish Government.

Jack Irvine, founder of Media House said:

“They may have taken legal advice and discovered what they were doing is illegal. Under EC law any minimum turnover figure must be related to and proportionate to the contract.”

Glasgow University caught out again.

The fable of Glasgow University having the best minds can only be sustained by myth alone, ranked 128th in the world and still further to drop.

For more Glasgow University illegal activity, click on the link below!

http://glasgowunihumanrights.blogspot.com/2009/08/glasgow-university-senior-management.html

At the time, this involved everyone of the Glasgow University senior management.

Including corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli who is now Principal of Glasgow University!

Poor Scottish students to be frozen out of higher education and now Scottish firms not good enough to quote for work; this is what happens when a Scottish University is allowed to be foreign control on Scottish soil.

Glasgow University is a human rights abusing organisation that is a fact.

Gaddafi ‘ordered Lockerbie bombing’ claims former Justice Minister, Lockerbie comes back as a Holyrood Election issue, Labour Party exposed

Dear All

If I were to ask you do you think that justice is important in society, how would you answer?

I suspect that you would say that justice is important in society; it is the glue that binds us all together knowing that you have recourse to higher authority.

Things in Libya have thrown up a side issue in that fast moving and fluid situation, the Lockerbie Bombing.

Mustafa Abedel-Jalil, former justice minister has claimed that Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi personally ordered the Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 people.

He also claims to have evidence to support this claim, whether this evidence would stand the test of scrutiny we have no way of knowing at present.

Mustafa Abedel-Jalil who resigned on Monday amid violent clashes between protesters and security forces, said:

“I have proof that Gaddafi gave the order about Lockerbie.”

He added:

“To hide it, Gaddafi did everything in his power to get Megrahi back from Scotland.”

This seems plausible but it is still just speculation.

The revelations will cause fresh embarrassment for the Labour Party as this comes hot on the heels of leaked diplomatic cables and an official report that showed the former Labour government did “all it could” to help Libya secure the release of Megrahi.

Labour Ministers professed publicly that the decision on his future was the Scottish Government’s alone.

You cannot trust the Labour Party; they will lie, lie and lie again to the people.

The Scottish Government said yesterday it never doubted the safety of the conviction of Libyan Abdelbaset al Megrahi.

That statement is a bit of a stretch because the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Board raised questions about evidence used to convict Megrahi.

I campaigned to have Megrahi released from prison to have the best possible chance for his appeal, it was important that justice wasn’t just done; it had to be seen to be done.

To that end I joined emailed the Scottish Government for release on compassionate grounds during his appeal in June 2009, Megrahi was released on the 20th August 2009 on compassionate grounds and flown out of Scotland to Libya.

He is suffering from terminal prostate cancer.

Megrahi, a Libyan intelligence officer received a hero’s welcome after arriving in Tripoli.

The mystery that is Lockerbie continues.

Scottish Conservative deputy leader Murdo Fraser MSP said:

“Given the events of recent days many people will find this a disturbing but believable claim. If true, it makes all the more questionable the role of the last Labour government’s drive to do all it could to send Megrahi back to Tripoli.”

The Labour Government was prepared to do anything to ensure that they got trade deals for BP to exploit the oil in the region.

This is about 4% of the total world oil production, significant and profitable.

Pamela Dix, from the group UK Families Flight 103, who lost her brother Peter in the bombing, said of the latest development:

“If this is true, it is shocking. It really rocks to the core the way that the UK Government has dealt with the whole Lockerbie issue, which is to sweep it under the carpet. It is really incredible. I would be really interested to know what evidence he has got. Perhaps he is trying to ingratiate himself with the US.”

It seems that the Labour Party has a lot to answer for to the relatives of the victims and the people of Britain and the US.

Ms Dix is calling for a fresh investigation into the bombing in light of the claims.

She added:

“If he has really got evidence, the Crown Office in Scotland should investigate. If this is a lead, they should be following this up.”

Lisa Gibson, of Colorado Springs, who lost her brother Ken in the bombing, added:

“I’m not surprised for him to say that Gaddafi is responsible because, ultimately, we know that.”

On the other side of the coin, Saif Gaddafi, Colonel Gaddafi’s son, said on Monday that he believed Megrahi was innocent and that his release had no direct links with a trade deal.

He said:

“One day the whole world will discover the truth about Lockerbie. He (Megrahi) is a very sick man, he has cancer and is in a very serious condition and so it was really immoral for the people to be unhappy with his return to Libya.”

You could say that he has a vest interest.

One thing is certain, if Gaddafi did order the bombing of Flight 103, he has a date in a Scottish Court.

At present Mustafa Abedel-Jalil claims cannot be verified so until the Libyan crisis plays itself out to its endgame, this issue will have to remain on the back burner.

This will play really badly for the Labour Party at the Holyrood Election, the picture of Blair and Gaddafi hugging like old friends will focus the minds of voters on where the Labour Party’s loyalties lie.

With the rich and powerful!

Yours sincerely

‘East Coast Weasel’ Labour MSP Iain Gray sinks to a new personal low as he uses the death of Reamonn Gormley to try and get into Bute House as FM

Dear All

Elections are like Xmas, we all know they are coming round and therefore we prepare for it accordingly, getting the decorations and Xmas lights out of the cupboard.

‘East Coast Weasel’ Labour MSP Iain Gray is using one of the Labour Party’s standard ‘decorations.’

Using a victim of crime in this case Reamonn Gormley to try and prop him into Bute House as First Minister.

He is going with the Labour Party’s phoney knife crime con, this has been used previously in William Bain’s Glasgow North East Campaign and post election was killed off.

People conned job done.

The ‘East Coast Weasel’ Iain Gray has urged the Scottish Government to take greater action to tackle knife crime.

Crime is at a 32 year low under the current Scottish Government.

This isn’t a comfort however to the family of Reamonn Gormley, for them nothing can take away how they must be feeling.

Gray said recent tragedies including the deaths of teenagers Reamonn Gormley in Blantyre and Dale Bennett in Gorebridge illustrated the public's desire for tougher measures.

Is he really so lacking in vision that the best he can come up with is ‘tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime.’

It has been done to death; move on Gray, the new model is ‘smart on crime.’

During First Minister's Questions in Holyrood, Mr Gray called on the Government to "listen to those people".

He said:

"Two thousand people marched on the streets of Blantyre demanding action on knife crime”.

2,000 people marched in memory of Reamonn Gormley and to try and hijack this for politicial ends is utterly contemptible.

Gray added:

"The murder of Reamonn Gormley shocked his community and appalled the country. Justice of the Peace Caroline Johnstone has even stepped down from the bench to campaign for mandatory jail sentences for knife carrying."

What the Labour Party is trying to is interfere with an independent judiciary which is illegal.

In the recent Crime Bill that went through Holyrood, the Labour Party put forward an amendment to alter the wording of the Bill, however they realised that they couldn’t make the Bill legally incompetent.

The Labour Party after all its rhetoric backed off.

Reamonn Gormley and his family deserve better than being used to try and get someone as false and shambolic as Iain Gray into power.

The Labour Party is really beneath contempt in how they use victims of misfortune for political campaigning.

Iain Gray is really nasty little man in all senses of those words.

I speak personally as a victim of knife crime who almost died.

Yours sincerely

Over The Rainbow - Glee Cast

One in ten youngsters in Glasgow lives in grinding poverty, the failure of Glasgow politicians exposed, party before people, rich before poor

Dear All

I like to watch housing programmes like ‘A Place in the Sun’, ‘Location, location, location’ and Grand Designs.

What do these programmes all have in common?

Rich people buying expensive houses that for most people in Scotland are well beyond their means. When poor people have programmes made about them like the secret millionaire or the scheme it is to put forward the sterotype of working class people as scumbags.

Fast forward to the reality in Scotland today, nearly a tenth of children in Scotland are living in "severe poverty".

This is according to research from a leading charity, Save the Children which says its findings are a "national scandal".

And the Labour Party during the last 13 years in government saw the gap between rich and poor increase and opportunity restricted.

I have never been what most people would term a ‘proper’ holiday, the two weeks in the sun lazing on a beach is unknown to me.

As is a lot of the things that people take for granted, my life is about living in a cold flat, eating cheap food, buying cheap clothes and going nowhere.

If I am lucky I get occasionally to win £10 on the lottery.

Hooray.

Government talk about poverty but they don’t understand poverty, they think education is a route out of it.

On rare occasions it is but what has created 'Ghetto Scotland' is restricted social opportunities.

Vast sections of society can’t get their rights and politicians suddenly take great interest in this…. at election time.

They think that trying to ‘con’ you for the 3 weeks of a short election campaign will be enough to trick you into voting for them when the other 49 weeks they wouldn't give you the time of day.

Ask yourself this question before you vote at this year’s Holyrood election.

When did you last see politicians in your area, out with election time?

If they really are so concerned about you and your family, why aren’t they campaigning for local organisations in your area?

Why aren’t they campaigning for local people in your area?

Why aren’t they campaigning for the local area?

If you do see an elected politician campaigning, they are usually doing it during their ‘working’ day.

And let’s be clear, you’re paying for that.

The head of Save the Children says in Scotland swift action is required in the country's most deprived areas to prevent the emergence of a "lost generation".

Is that a joke, there has been lost generations for the last 40 years.

Douglas Hamilton, head of Save the Children in Scotland, said:

"Urgent action is required in Scotland's most deprived areas or we will end up with a lost generation. Some of these children will grow up living in households with no working adults - they have never seen a parent or grandparent work and this becomes the norm”.

Hamilton added:

"People don't see a route out of poverty or this cycle of worklessness and the government needs to give them hope. It's essential that we see urgent, bold measures with more resources pumped into these areas to create some decent jobs for parents."

Glasgow fares worst in Scotland, this comes as no surprise as the City has been blighted by a Labour Council of shame which runs Glasgow like a fiefdom.

The situation to change Glasgow for the better will only happen when people educate themselves to what the Glasgow Labour Party has done here.

Politicians have a lot of failure to answer for, their mistakes blighted people's lives.

Yours sincerely

Former Labour MP Jim Devine declared bankrupt, Marion Kinley gets sequestration order so she can get her money, game, set and match Kinley

Dear All

Trouble is like buses, you never have any then it all comes at once.

Former Labour MP Jim Devine has been formally declared bankrupt.

This is the final nail in his political coffin before he pops off to HMP Longpoke or as some call it, Club Fed.

At a hearing at Livingston Sheriff Court, the insolvency order was made after Mr Devine failed to pay his former office manager Marion Kinley £35,000 for unfair dismissal.

What a shit.

Last year an employment tribunal heard how ‘bully’ Devine tried to make up stories about his former Office Manager Marion Kinley to justify firing her.

The former MP’s luck has run out.

Solicitors acting for Miss Kinley were granted a sequestration order against Mr Devine because he had not paid any of the £35,000 compensation he was ordered by a judge to pay her for constructive dismissal.

And now, the bankruptcy ruling means his home in Blackburn, West Lothian, and any other assets he owns will be put in the hands of a trustee.

Mrs Kinley, through her solicitor, said:

"I take no delight in the sequestration of Mr Devine. However, he has had five months to settle the award made by the tribunal and he has ignored every request. I was left with no alternative. The award is not compensation, it is money for loss of earnings and unpaid mileage which Mr Devine kept for himself throughout my employment. Obviously, the timing is not ideal with him being sentenced in a couple of weeks but he has known about this since October 2010."

Personally, I think she has nothing to explain let alone justify, she is owed the money, Devine has made no effort to pay and therefore she has taken the right course of action.

The continuing saga of Jim Devine is like a soap opera, the Labour Party selects a ‘bam’ and then the ‘bam’ acts out his nature.

Soon, he will be the ‘star’ of prisoner from Cell Block H, and I wonder if the same generosity will be extended to him with a transfer to an open prison.

Hopefully not!

Well done Marion Kinley.

Lib Dem candidate Gordon Leslie stands down over sex charges, in public office you have to behave yourself or get a blow up sheep!

Dear All

When you are in public office you have a duty to behave yourself.

Not just for your sake but for the sake of everyone who worked tirelessly to put you there in the first place.

The Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Gordon Leslie for Aberdeen Donside has stood down after being charged with offences related to prostitution.

Gordon is also a Lib Dem Councillor.

He stood down with immediate effect on Tuesday the party has confirmed.

Grampian Police said a 64-year-old man had been reported to the procurator fiscal and will appear at the city's sheriff court next month.

Councillor Gordon Leslie declined to comment when approached by BBC Scotland.

There are five alleged contraventions of the Prostitution (Public Places Scotland) Act 2007.

Councillor Leslie is the convener of the city council's children's services committee and the vice convener of the social care and wellbeing committee.

He should also stand down from these roles as well.

The Lib Dem group on the council is expected to meet next week to decide on possible suspension.

In politics Victorian values operate and the modus operandi is that the sooner someone is buried the better.

The Lib Dems now have the task of starting the process of selecting a new candidate for Aberdeen Donside in May's Holyrood election all over again.

In writing this post, I checked my statcounter which appears at the bottom of my blog and found this.

This involves a Glasgow University employee Dr. Brendan Wallace who worked part time as cross dressing male whore.

He was selling his 'ass' for £40.

But I don’t think he would ever stand for public office since he had terrible dress sense, denim mini, purple stockings, wore red lipstick and wore glasses.

Next time Councillor Gordon Leslie should play safe and use a blow up sheep!

Glasgow’s Sarah Palin, Gail Sheridan treads the political boards with George Galloway for Holyrood, truce called but will it signal victory in May?

Dear All

It seems that Glasgow’s Sarah Palin, Gail Sheridan is grounded in political reality; she will share a platform next week with George Galloway.

In her first public engagement since her husband, Scotland’s Nelson Mandela was banged up and began his prison sentence for perjury; she will tread the political boards.

The meeting in Glasgow calls a truce between Solidarity and the Galloway campaign following bitterness over Mrs Sheridan’s decision to stand for Holyrood under her husband’s banner.

When that flared up George Galloway’s was very unhappy.

The historic meeting will be at Renfield St Stephen’s Church in Bath Street, is under the banner of the Defend Tommy Sheridan Campaign.

Leaving aside politics and going solely on personality, George Galloway could cause an upset on the Glasgow list.

Labour voters might vote for him and he will probably attach other sections of the political community.

I would like to see non entity Green MSP Patrick Harvie go and be replaced by George Galloway on the list.

Galloway has persona that Harvie completely lacks, we would be replacing ‘smart price’ Harvie with Coca Cola Galloway.

And the move also benefits Glasgow’s Sarah Palin, if would help her chances for standing in the Glasgow City Council Elections in 2012 as a candidate.

I continually ask people in Glasgow to name a Glasgow List MSP; so far, the survey has produced 0% recognition across the board.

List MSPs are the public unelectable that the public cannot do anything about and the list system can be rigged.

What does Galloway bring to the table despite being only a list MSP?

He brings passion, credibility, weight and gravitas that people like Patrick Harvie don’t.

Although Galloway attends the Defend Tommy Sheridan Campaign, he is there for the Solidarity votes and has made it clear this isn’t about defending Sheridan.

He said:

“Much as I love Tommy and feel sorry for what has happened to him, I think that would be a bad idea.”

Galloway needs Solidarity because of the manpower and organisation that they can bring, it isn’t a lot but it is there.

Jim Monaghan, secretary of the Defend Tommy Sheridan Campaign committee, said:

“Since his conviction and sentencing, there has been overwhelming and growing public support for Tommy and his family. We hope this rally will galvanise that support and take the campaign forward to ultimately see his conviction quashed and the real criminals exposed.”

Ken Ross, chair of the committee, said:

“We are expecting a very good turnout to the rally, not just because we have such eminent, prominent and high-profile speakers as George Galloway and Gail Sheridan, but also because it has been evident over the past few weeks that people from all walks of life, including those in the legal profession, are extremely concerned about how the legal authorities and the News of the World have conducted their business in relation to this case. It is vitally important these matters are brought to the fore.”

Gail Sheridan is using Galloway and Galloway is using Gail Sheridan, will it work and produce a List MSP?

I think it could, Labour know that they will not get list MSPs could try and influence the list by asking their supporters to vote tactically in certain parts of the city.

Galloway has all but said that although he isn’t taking the Labour whip, he is a Labour man through and through.

The novel of the Glasgow Holyrood Campaign 2011 has a decent sub plot for the people to look at.

Galloway needs about 15,000 votes to park himself in Holyrood and he might get it.

Holyrood needs colour and passion and less cannon fodder.

Yours sincerely

Fresh Scandal for Corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli of Glasgow University, Scots firms effectively barred from tendering for work unless rich enough

Dear All

Glasgow University is getting widely known as a human rights abusing organisation.

The current Principal is corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli who was involved in covering up criminal fraud and bullying.

We hear much in the media from politicians talking endless about the quality of a ‘Scottish’ education.

The truth of the matter for Scots is quite stark, Scots don’t control Scottish Universities.

Non Scots do.

Is it any wonder that Scottish people get such a raw deal?

Now, another Glasgow University scandal is flagged up, Scottish PR Agencies being effectively blocked from competing for a tender for a PR consultancy to handle a worldwide fundraising campaign.

In order to bar all Scottish PR firms, the human rights abusing Glasgow University has put in a blocker that the pitch bidders will have to demonstrate a turnover of at least £10m.
Only one is eligible, Weber Shandwick and only because its parent company can qualify because of its turnover.

The university is asking for "evidence of a minimum turnover for the firm providing the service (not parent companies) of 10M GBP" must be supplied.

One agency boss said:

"As a Scottish-owned business within a worldwide network, this project would be perfect for us. Because of the £10m threshold this company, like pretty much every other Scottish PR company, is cut out of going for this despite the fact that we are on the ground and have the expertise to deliver at a cost-effective rate."

On the Public Contracts Scotland website, when asked to clarify why this threshold has been set so high, a Glasgow University spokesperson retorted:

“This tender is open to any firm in Europe or indeed worldwide and not just Scotland. The purpose of the European tender rules is to open the competition up in this manner, or in other words, it is illegal for us to appoint locally unless that local appointment wins the tender. 10m pounds represents around 5% of the University turnover and given the strategic importance of this project we considered the minimum turnover to be reasonable.”

And as an anonymous commentator from one Scottish PR firm has since pointed out that as the “university’s turnover comes partly from grants and public funding” this figure of 5% doesn’t “represent real turnover”.

Well spotted that person.

In order to try and cover themselves; a further statement from the university explained matter thus:

“A global fundraising campaign requires an agency with international experience running a fully-integrated and comprehensive project. Given the strategic importance of this project we consider the minimum turnover to be reasonable.”

It isn’t.

In education the ethos is very much about ability, here is a clear demonstrating that ability is meaningless, it is about how rich you are.

The human rights abusing Glasgow University has now been exposed in another area besides discriminating against ordinary working class Scots.

In an organisation were I spent 20 years, the amount of cronyism and corruption I saw was mind blowing. My own personal experience not withstanding, the University of Glasgow is not a Scottish University but rather it is a foreign controlled university.

I have blogged on this aspect before, the only thing Glaswegian is the location and Glaswegian people born here who get very menial jobs within the institution.

Corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli should never have been allowed to take the post of Principal.

Scots must take back their universities if they are going to have any chance of becoming an independent country.

He who controls education controls history.

Yours sincerely

Colonel Gaddafi on the run: Dictator flees Tripoli as protesters set the Libyan parliament building alight and control large sections of the country

Dear All

Across the Middle East, the flames of people power are burning out of control; the reasons are complex and not new, oppression, bad living conditions, unemployment and no hope.

Libya is the next country to seemly fall to the people.

Col Muammar Gaddafi's regime is under extreme pressure amid unprecedented protests in the Libyan capital.

Gaddafi is believed to have fled the capital Tripoli, he has seen the writing on the wall, anti-government demonstrators breached the state television building and are setting government property alight.

Security forces fired live ammunition and tear gas on protesters in the streets of Tripoli late on Sunday.

Benghazi, the country's second city, has fallen to the control of protesters.

Col Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam is warning of civil war which could ignite at any moment.

In a lengthy TV address, he offered political reforms but also vowed that the regime would "fight to the last bullet" against "seditious elements".

Sounds like Saddam rhetoric and when push comes to shove, the Iraqi regime collapsed quickly enough.

The eastern city al-Bayda had fallen to the opposition.

Justice Minister Mustapha Abdul Jalil has become the latest senior official to resign.

He quit saying that he leaving because of the "excessive use of violence".

Almost all major tribal leaders seem to have joined the opposition, as well as important religious leaders and several senior Libyan ambassadors.

This is like a flood but a flood can be directed if the will is there, it is increasingly likely that the country will fall.

When the first shot killed a protestor, the regime became untenable, putting foreign mercenaries on the streets which lead to massacres was an unforgiveable mistake; there is no going back from that.

The best option is for Col Muammar Gaddafi to transfer power over to the military so that law and order can be re-established and that there is a clear undertaking that free and fair elections are held.

Libya like Egypt is changing direction; the important thing is not to let the country slide into chaos.

The people need to stop and have a moment of pause, the destroying of government buildings must stop or the entire country will be plunged into an age of darkness.

You can’t have governance without redress to law and advocacy.

One can only wonder what will happen when this hits Saudi Arabia!

People deserve the right to chose their leaders, interesting times ahead, there is a new deal in the desert.

Green MSP Patrick Harvie calls for 'rape remark' MSP Bill Aitken to go and submits Parliamentary motion, what kept you Harvie?

Dear All

Tory MSP Bill Aitken is facing demands to step down as convener of Holyrood's justice committee.

Truth be told; he should be stripped of that position following remarks he made about the recent gang rape of a woman in Glasgow.

The Green Party have made a parliamentary motion.

And there is a Facebook Campaign too, sign up folks.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Bill-Aitken-Must-Go-Campaign-for-a-New-Scottish-Justice-Convener/194959127189544

Green MSP Patrick Harvie said:

"Bill Aitken's comments are way beyond the standards any party in parliament should find acceptable from any MSP, but they make it entirely unacceptable for him to continue in post as convener of the justice committee."

Harvie is joining the campaign to remove Aitken a bit late in the day.

Although Aitken is a member of the ‘Glasgow unelectable’, List MSPs who get in the back door at Holyrood through the voting of Party members, he is also retiring from politics at the next election.

But there is a case of stripping him of the Convenor-ship of the Justice Committee.

Aitken is a ‘bam’.

His career will end in disgrace and rightly so, he hasn’t served Glasgow well.

Tomorrow at Holyrood, there will be a Protest Bill Aitken outside Parliament event from 08.30 till 11.00.

If you are in Edinburgh can spare the time, then why not pop along and join the group at the Parliament.

And we are all still waiting for weak Tory leader, Annabel Goldie to condemn him.

Tartan Tory poster girl candidate Davena Rankin defects to Labour Party, she probably thinks she is the ‘new’ Wendy Alexander, totally unelectable

Dear All

Oh the shame of it.

A former Scottish Conservative election candidate and union activist has defected to Labour.

Tartan Tory poster girl Davena Rankin’s defection is a blow to the leadership of floundering Annabel Goldie.

After May, Goldie will probably get the heave.

But to return to the Labour Party, they aren’t getting a prize, Davina Rankin is unelectable, period.

George Laird has spoken.

There is no way that traditional Scottish Labour Party voters are going to vote for this turncoat.

The former Glasgow University product is so false that anyone can see right through her immediately.

‘East Coast Weasel’ Labour MSP Iain Gray who is as equally unpopular with the public said:

"I am delighted to welcome Davena Rankin to the Labour Party. Davena joined Labour because she knows we are the party that stands up for ordinary working people now facing the onslaught of Tory cuts. People in Scotland are furious at David Cameron's Government. Even people in the past who backed them are appalled at their slash and burn approach to child benefits, tax credits for working parents and local services. Every time David Cameron says 'We're in this together', the more people stare in disbelief. Now the Tories are back Labour will work harder than ever before to protect Scottish families and working people. As a committed trades unionist and very active member of Unison, Davena is only too well aware of the impact of the Tory cuts."

No, it actually much simplier, she woken up to the fact that Tories are unelectable in the central belt stupid.

She might even see herself as the new Wendy Alexander!

Every time Davena Rankin goes to the ballot box for the public’s verdict is always comes back the same, no!

First election battle was against George Galloway eneded in failure; then was second on the Glasgow regional list at the 2007 Holyrood election behind Bill Aitken. The following year she contested the Glasgow East by-election and was completely panned.

The Scottish Conservative Party has declined to comment and a while ago, I heard rumours that things weren't going well for Davena Rankin within the Tory ranks.

http://glasgowunihumanrights.blogspot.com/2009/06/tory-lister-davena-rankin-deselected.html

Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the time I said:

‘I look at her and I see a Wendy Alexander clone, someone who wants to use voters as a stepping stone.

Although Ms. Rankin may tick a lot of boxes, the important one of 'giving a toss' looks to me to be completely blank.

I wonder why she got bumped and as Michael Howard famously said;

"Are you thinking what I am thinking?"

For the record; I am thinking arse!’

And for the record yet again, opinion not changed 2011.

Secret plans to charge Scottish students £12k for degree, the poor will be frozen out of higher education at foreign controlled Scottish Universities

Dear All

It seems that Alastair Sim formerly of the human rights abusing University of ‘Guantánamo Bay’ (Glasgow University) and now currently director of Universities Scotland has made a major gaff.

Scottish Universities want to charge students fees of £12,000 for a four-year degree.

This will effectively price the poorest and most disadvantaged out of higher education.

A leaked circular from Universities Scotland has come into the public domain which shows that university principals want to charge a graduate contribution at approximately the same level charged in England, currently £3290 a year.

So, what is Universities Scotland?

Universities Scotland is nothing but a small clique which is a front company which serves no purpose.

This is what happens in higher education, little groups are formed at various levels of university management to give the appearance that ‘independent experts’ are commenting on higher education.

It is just the same university people wearing a different title and it is amazing the amount of people that fall for it.

The document signed by Alastair Sim has only been circulated to principals including the corrupt foreigner Anton Muscatelli, Principal of Glasgow University.

It seems that the University sector is wants to protect their rich lifestyles and are desperate for an urgent new funding stream to come online to protect their empires.

Universities have to be reformed and slimmed down.

Many departments need to be transferred to the College Sector and the Scottish Funding Council broken up into two distinct entities.

Scottish Funding Council (University) and Scottish Funding Council (Colleges)!

This way the College sector and reach its full potential which has been hindered by universities dominating the Scottish Funding Council’s board and committees.

Last week, human rights abusing Glasgow University started a ‘consultation’ on plans to scrap or merge a raft of courses.

No hope there for the staff who will be getting tossed on the scrap heap, their fate is sealed.

Across the university sector the same model of cuts will be taking place, and these people have one thing in common, they will all belong to external organisations like the Association of University Administrators and Association of Heads of University Administration Association etc etc.

And another thing they tend to have in common is that they all copy each other, there isn’t much in the way of original thinking doing the rounds.

Universities have been allowed to operate without proper controls; they have been negligent in their spending of taxpayers’ money for decades.

Having spent 20 years at the human rights abusing Glasgow University, it was corrupt to the core and rife with cronyism.

That is why the university system is collapsing; too many stupid people were giving their pals and family jobs.

The Scottish Government currently gives £1.07 billion to universities, and the money isn’t well spent for the return.

At present the Scottish Government says the case for a graduate contribution has not yet been made.

And given it will disadvantage the poor, it is unlikely that bunny will run this side of a Holyrood election.

I previously put forward other funding options in my blog, such as increasing overseas students and transferring departments to colleges in a restructuring process.

The new model of education should be University slimmed down, Colleges expanded and the use of schools as ‘community colleges’.

Community Colleges would function after the normal school day in part as teaching and leisure components. Community Centres would have their operations transferred to the new Community Colleges.

Schools lie empty and night and that is unproductive, the Community Colleges would fall within the remit of the new Scottish Funding Council (Colleges).

School education would be removed from Councils and transferred to Scottish Government control.

Alastair Sim, director of Universities Scotland, states in the leaked circular that bridging the gap from Scottish public funding “appears to be an almost unrealisable challenge”.

It isn’t, it is just that Alastair Sim is cannon fodder and not a leader of men.

It adds:

“The Scottish Government’s commitment to real-terms protection of health spending ... and projection of flat cash settlements for most other services, make it extremely difficult to see how public funding can sustain universities’ contribution without the leverage of significant additional resources from other sources. We believe it is fair in principle that individuals who realise substantial private benefit as a result of a university education should make a contribution, as well as this being pragmatically necessary as a result of reduced public funding. A reasonable assumption is that a Scottish graduate contribution could be set at a level which is much closer to, or lower than, the former English level of deferred contribution.”

Alastair Sim is a funny little man and should stay away from things that are well above his pay grade; leave the thinking to those who have real vision.

Universities Scotland is like Sportscotland, it is just a talking shop which is a waste of time, money and resources.

It should be abolished to save money.

Yours sincerely

David Cameron backs ‘cycle homes’ as the ‘natural’ replace to motor homes, citing increased social mobility and overseas military applications

Dear All

Austerity Britain has produced some odd innovations.

Bikohomes, the world’s leading cyclehomes company has produced their new cycle home to the general public.

Cycle homes are expected to replace motor homes in the future as oil becomes in short supply.

Chairman Sid Pendlebrooke-symth the 3rd said:

‘I was at a Tory dinner party when the subject of screwing the country for government contracts came up. I suggested ‘cyclehomes’, you take a cycle and lash a fridge onto it and off you go, a dynamo powers the fridge and we even throw in a plastic sheet to act as a roof, kept on the top of the fridge’.

Pendlebrooke-symth added:

‘I donated £100,000 to Tory Party HQ coffers and immediately got appointments with Foreign Office and Department for International Development. Also because the idea is so radical, I was surprised to receive a call from the MOD asking if we could do an armoured version for troops in Afghanistan’.

An MOD spokesman said:

‘Things are still at an early stage but we understand that troops in the field are desperate for a kebab, so an armoured cycle home means they can peddle down to the local shops, get a carry out and peddle back up the road, it is the latest thing in stealth technology’.

‘And it comes in black’!

Chairman Sid Pendlebrooke-symth the 3rd said:

‘I am pleased that the MOD has decided to take 3,000 units of our new armoured cycle homes which use the latest in stealth technology. With three government departments now on board and an order book of £23,000,000 I can now take on a second person to help me in my garage’.

A Number 10 spokesman said:

‘Yet again British technology is playing its part in society and the wider world, with emerging markets in China and India, Britain will be a market leader’.
