Dear All
It seems that Steven ‘bin laden’ Purcell has declared ‘Glaswegian jihad’ on Glasgow City Council.
Lawyers acting for Purcell have asked the UK information watchdog to investigate claims that Scotland’s biggest council breached the privacy of its former leader by leaking details about his health.
The claims centre whether officials acting in their official capacity leaked to the press the fact that advisers within Glasgow City Council had been preparing a statement saying he had a “chemical dependency” and was seeking treatment.
The statement from Glasgow City Council is fairly typical stuff;
“The council believes it has complied with the terms of the Data Protection Act and will deal with any complaint on that basis.”
For Purcell rather than trying to close down the matter, it is really petrol on a fire for the press.
Although news of the statement leaked, I cannot see anyone putting their hands up and admitting talking to the press and they aren’t going to give up their sources at the council.
More important for Purcell are the people who drew up the “chemical dependency” statement.
I would suggest that is where the money is in any possible legal action.
Purcell will find out that the UK information watchdog is incompetent and toothless; also it will be pro Glasgow City Council.
So, unless the London Labour Party is backing Purcell to the hilt, he can expect no help from the regulator.
Yes, the London Labour Party.
Mind you, this will give Purcell a taste of corrupt Britain.
His complaint on Data Protection grounds I suspect will be a loser because I don’t see the officials at Glasgow City Council coming forward to admit telling the press.
So, it seems that Steven ‘bin laden’ Purcell will finally get a taste of what it really means to be Glaswegian in Labour controlled ‘Hellhole Glasgow’.
Yours sincerely
