Dear All
It seems no matter what way the Labour Party turns they can’t escape protesting parents reacted with fury as Labour closes and then destroys schools.
In North Lanarkshire Council council bosses are recommended the closure of four schools and two nurseries.
The parents of children have reacted badly and months of protests have followed as an uncaring Labour administration has ignored parents concerns.
St Francis of Assisi Primary and Cedarwood Nursery in Cumbernauld, Belvidere Primary in Bellshill, St Matthew’s Primary in Wishaw and Gartsherrie Primary in Coatbridge and Newarthill Nursery in Motherwell will feel the Labour axe on their community.
Where is conflict resolution specialist Labour MSP Jack McConnell?
No one knows but I would hazard a guess and suggest that there are no five star hotels nearby.
When the closures were announced at Motherwell Civic Centre, the familiar cries of “shame” rang out across the hall.
It seems that North Lanarkshire Labour is falling in the footsteps of the Glasgow Labour Council of shame with their own destruction programme of schools.
In true Labour suppression of dissent the Labour Council got its Security guards to forced the parents into silence watching the debate.
Duncan Waddell of Belvidere Parents Council said;
“We are unhappy with the handling of the consultation and disappointed with the outcome. Despite the use of the word ‘consultation’, we strongly feel that we still lack answers to our key concerns regarding the proposal.”
This is a hallmark of Labour, the use of the sham consultation, in Glasgow 96% voted against school closures and was ignored.
Kay Rowat, a mum from Gartsherrie Primary said;
“It’s not a surprise. We knew they wouldn’t save our school. It’s just all politics. We’re very grateful to the councillors who backed us but the feeling towards the others is really bad.”
SNP Councillor Gordon Murray fighting against the Labour decision has slammed the Council for a “stupid proposal”.
He said;
“Children at nearby St Andrew’s Primary are being educated in huts because of over-crowding. Simple re-zoning in Cumbernauld would allow children from that school to go to Holy Cross. The council said the overcrowding at St Andrew’s was due to them being overwhelmed by extra housing developments but who allowed those houses to be built? This has been biased and a farce of a consultation that would been pushed through whatever people said.”
Yet again the people are ignored as a brutal Labour Party operating out of one of the worst Labour fiefdoms in the West of Scotland have railroaded through cuts.
The people of North Lanarkshire have a choice to register their disgust at the forthcoming General Election.
The people of Motherwell and Wishaw can elected an SNP MP who will fight for them.
All they need is a few minutes and a pen at a polling booth.
Yours sincerely

Not much point in paying Jack to do the job if he's off doing something for the English government.
Resolving conflict somewhere.... like it's anything to do with Gordon Brown and England.....is not what we are paying him for out of Scotland's money.
There are far too many of these Labour MSPs whose first loyalty is to Gordon and London Labour.
Time they were out!
But then, this is Scotland and "Labour" , "cabbage" "red" and "rosette" are words that come to mind!
