Dear All
Politics is a funny old business, the best candidate or even the one who deserves to win sometimes doesn’t get in.
Tommy Sheridan is standing in Glasgow South West; so far four people have declared their intention to stand.
Ian Davidson currently the Labour MP
Chris Stephens the SNP Candidate
Heather MacLeod the Conservative Candidate
And of course Tommy Sheridan is throwing his hat into the ring.
At present Sheridan’s career has nosedived, his court case and appearance on Celeb Big Brother have I would say completely killed his political career.
On top of that, the News of the World has pretty much an ongoing agenda against him.
Some people think that Sheridan could pull a couple of thousands votes in the forthcoming election but these are wasted votes, there will be no Tommy Sheridan revival.
Sheridan however is still well known from his days as an elected Councillor so he has a recognisable brand.
Unfortunately for him, it is so tainted.
Yours sincerely

It's all about media exposure these days George. If he can wangle it he has chance.
Dear Scunnert
I think that Tommy Sheridan has had too much of the wrong kind of media exposure to have any chance.
I can't see him getting much in the way of votes, he is well remembered in Pollok but I don't even that will count.
I remember having a discussion at the old Pollok centre with him.
He asked me why I was wearing a leather jacket on such a hot day.
I explained this is Pollok better the jacket was slashed than me.
He laughed.
It is a two contest between the SNP and Labour.
The Labour Party has a 13,000 majority.
Davidson's vote in 2005, 18,653.
No chance of a win because of several factors.
Yours sincerely
