It seems that the morally corrupt Labour Party has abandoned their 3 MPs who are facing criminal charges over their expenses claims.
They have suspended David Chaytor, Elliot Morley and Jim Devine.
Three goats, staked out to appease public opinion.
By cutting them loose they are trying to flag up that Chaytor, Morley and Devine are nothing to do with them anymore.
In a knee jerk reaction Labour said;
“The Labour Party’s general secretary has today suspended David Chaytor, Jim Devine and Elliot Morley’s membership of the Labour Party in light of the serious allegations against them”.
The removal of the Labour whip isn’t anything to do with justice or fairness but rather more to do with ‘stage management’, it is a PR gimmick.
Having banned the 3 MPs from standing for elections, this was a natural next step for Labour, clearing them out to make way for the ‘new’ candidate who will pledge to serve the people but in reality only serve the Labour Party.
The suspension is a reaction to the Tories removing the whip from Lord Hanningfield, who is also facing charges of false accounting.
It’s the old Labour mantra, ‘tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime’.
Tory leader David Cameron in a speech has hit out at what he calls the the “disgusting sight” of the Labour MPs claiming parliamentary privilege in an attempt to avoid prosecution for expenses abuses.
Cameron wants to look statesmanlike, instead of his usual double glazing salesman demeanour.
One of the things which I find quite rich is Cameron hitting out at Brown claiming, he helped create the culture at Westminster which led to the expenses scandal and the collapse of public confidence in politics.
David Cameron is an equal partner, for years Cameron didn’t speak out until it all blew up in their faces and everyone had to cough to want they were claiming.
As to David Chaytor, Elliot Morley and Jim Devine, they are legally entitled to a fair trial and the political parties should stop this circus immediately.
The Labour Party and the Tory Party are equally as guilty of expenses abuse and both Cameron and Brown have both had to repay expenses.
A few goats staked out and a show trial isn’t going to restore public trust in Parliament.
To show how low in personal integrity both David Cameron and Gordon Brown are, their ‘little blame game’ will affect the 3 Labour MPs getting a fair hearing.
