Labour MSP George Foukles has a big mouth, so why isn't he out using his hot air to melt the ice on pavements?

Dear All

True grit or the lack of it seems to be topical in the politic sphere.

The Scottish Parliament was treated to a classic case of fake Labour Party outrage about grit supplies in Scotland.

Opening the batting Finance Secretary John Swinney made a statement outlining what measures are being taking place to keep Scotland on the move.

The jist is that ministers are working in partnership with councils to ensure there is enough grit and salt supplies.

Labour, the party of the careerist piped up that Scottish Ministers were being complacent on this issue.

Pollok Labour MSP Johann Lamont said;

“In the face of what most of our constituents recognise as a national emergency, the response of the Scottish Government has been so far complacent, defensive and, critically, displaying a lack of leadership.”

National emergency, is she serious?

Over egging that pudding dear!

Then Labour MSP George Foulkes waded in to open his trap to criticised ministers because of “cuts” imposed by the SNP administration.

In order to set Foulkes straight John Swinney said;

“What a bare-faced cheek Lord Foulkes has. Not only did Johann Lamont spectacularly miss the tone of the moment but Lord Foulkes has traipsed into the problem in the usual chaotic, shambolic fashion that he manages”.

Foukles is the master of the daft question as his FOI requests bear out, nothing is too stupid to be asked by him.

Getting worked up John Swinney let rip;

“Has he not forgotten? We’ve had £500 million of cuts coming down the road from the Labour Government in London.”

Foulkes probably has forgotten he is too busy counting all his money from various sources to be bothered about the Government’s cash.

So, New Year brings to the fore what we all knew before the recess, the political parties don’t really like each other.

The Labour Party really hates the Scottish National Party.

As for John Swinney, he should ensure that there is enough grit and salt where ever George Foulkes walks, Foukles has been known to have trouble staying on his feet.

And when falling, drags bystanders down with him!

Yours sincerely
