Disloyal Geoff Hoon to face wrath of Labour activists over 'Hoongate', his cover story is in place

Dear All

After the coup that never was because so many Labour Ministers bottled it, Former minister Geoff Hoon has declared the fight for a secret ballot over Gordon Brown's leadership "is over".

Hoon has stated he did not regret sending the doomsday letter to all Labour MPs calling for a vote on the inept and incompetent Gordon Brown.

No government minister voiced support for the secret ballot even although there was supposed to be a ‘gang of six’, the dirty half dozen waiting in the wings.

For Hoon and former health secretary Patricia Hewitt, they have nothing to lose, Hoon isn’t going to be a Government Minister ever again and Hewitt is stepping down at the General Election to spend more time with her ‘directorships’.

The Brown camp has tried to dismiss the coup as a "storm in a teacup", but what is clear is that Brown is leading a Cabinet of the divided.

To show how much damage has been done to Brown; his official spokesman said he made no reference to it during the 90-minute session of the Cabinet.

He is living in denial, unable to face the truth.

Business Secretary Lord Mandelson divorced from reality said ministers had to focus on setting out what "we can do for the country, not just for the next year but the next 10 years".

This Labour Government hasn’t years left but only months and weeks.

The coup is said to be over but I expect that Hoon and the rest of the plotters will try again closer to the election to ensure a Labour loss of epic proportions that way forcing down to go after defeat.

Hoon is to face a meeting of activists in his constituency of Ashford; I expect he will survive as he has already prepared his cover story.

The coup has been described as "cowardly" and "unconstitutional, last night speaking on This Week, Diane Abbot singled out David Miliband and described him as “gutless”.

Repeatedly!

This is Labour in action.

Yours sincerely
