The Dove World outreach center plans burning hundreds of Korans to mark 9/11 Anniversary, such an act endangers US troops, religious lunacy

Dear All

It is a sad fact of life that the world is full of cranks and nutters of various religious denominations.

From the lunacy of the Phelps family who run the Westboro Baptist Church to Muslim extremists, they are all out there preaching their vision of God.

The Phelps family featured on a Louis Theroux documentary were they were filmed turning up at funerals of dead American servicemen using their right of free speech to picket.

Who in their right mind pickets a funeral; they suffer from a collective insanity rather like people who are brainwashed in a cult.

Muslim extremists on the other hand like to torture innocent people and cut the heads off people while being filmed.

Now, a small US church says it will defy international condemnation and go ahead with plans to burn copies of the Koran on the 9/11 anniversary.

The actions of The Dove World Outreach Center are wrong morally but this is part of a growing anti Muslim feeling building up in America for some time.

Matters are not helped for American Muslims by the plans for an Islamic centre and Mosque close to Ground Zero in New York which has sparked severe protests.

Given the significance of the site to many Americans, it is inappropriate to have such a centre built there but they have the legal right and planning permission.

However if politicians don’t respond to the wishes of the people, then this will leave a vacuum which more extremist politicians seeking office will fill the void.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the church's plan to burn the Koran was "disrespectful and disgraceful".

She is of course right but legally these people can buy the Koran and burn it if they so wish.

To justify their actions organiser, Pastor Terry Jones said:

"We must send a clear message to the radical element of Islam."

What this act will do, is put American lives in danger needlessly.

Gen David Petraeus, the top US commander in Afghanistan, said

"It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems."

All that The Dove World Outreach Center is doing is running a recruitment advert for disenfranchised Muslims to be radicalised and giving Muslim Preachers of hate a platform but are too stupid to realise this.

What is clear is that America is shifting more towards being anti Muslim and sooner or later, this will seep into mainstream politics because it is the public that puts candidates into elected office.

I think that this event will probably be filmed by major news networks, which is a shame because all it does is generate anti Muslim feeling.

Yours sincerely
