No surprises at Glasgow City Council.
They have voted against holding an inquiry into its own actions under former leader Steven Purcell.
The decision yet again shows that you can’t trust the Labour Party who controls the Labour Council of shame.
The SNP Group at Glasgow City Council put forward a motion asking for an independent investigation into "the practices and recent decisions of the council".
The he Labour-dominated council had other ideas and backed an amendment which said there was no need for an inquiry.
In other words there will be no investigation into how jobs and contracts are awarded by the City of Glasgow and its ALEOs.
The Glasgow Labour Council has decided to opt to continue secrecy so that the public are denied information in order to protect Glasgow Labour Party members.
The motion from SNP Councillor and Group Leader James Dornan asked the council to note recent events and recognise "that the lack of clarity over events at a senior level risks damaging the reputation of Glasgow City Council".
The culture of secrecy and privilege is set to continue.
The motion to restore trust and transparency only won the support of 23 councillors.
To the City of Glasgow’s shame, the amendment, saying there was no need for an independent investigation, was backed by 48 councillors.
That is the Glasgow Labour Party in action.
The General Election affords the people of Glasgow the opportunity to sweep away the Glasgow Labour Party culture of greed and privilege where the few gain at the expense of the many.
Nicola Sturgeon once said it is time to shine a light on the dealings of Labour controlled Glasgow City Council, it is clear that the torch needs to be held by the Scottish Government via an independent inquiry.
While the people of Glasgow suffer the Glasgow Labour Party members, their relatives, friends, associates and Labour donors get rich.
The council's interim leader Jim ‘the undertaker’ Coleman said there was no need for an inquiry.
Coleman might have buried an independent investigation for now but the stench is so strong that it is turning people’s guts over.
The autopsy is still needed.
