Glasgow Labour Party cash cow and travel agent, SPT gives £60,000 to Chief Executive Ron Culley, new faces same trough, all Labour

Dear All

Former Labour Party PPC and Chief Executive of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is to receive a bumper £60,000 payoff.

It is the same money as a retiring MP from Westminster.

Ron Culley is the £129,000-a-year head of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport who managed the Glasgow Labour Party’s cash cow and travel agent.

He has resigned on health grounds.

There is a lot of sickness by Labour Party members who have pocketed public money from the SPT.

But not travel sickness.

Just sick of being caught out betraying the public trust.

As head of this failed donkey, the Labour Party has travelled the world, 11 directors and executives have over the past three years bounced away to destinations including China, India, Italy and the United States.

And of course less we forget, Rangers Games.

SNP Councillors have attacked the payment saying that Culley should leave with nothing but his pension, not a penny more than he is legally entitled to.

As well as opposing the pay off, the SNP will speak out regarding the unsatisfactory state of affairs that will see promotion of a number of SPT managers to more senior posts in the wake of the scandal.

It seems to me that the SNP Government have after putting the SPT on notice to clean up its act, have been ignored.

No change at the SPT, just deckchair movement.

If you want a laugh, here it is, Culley o one occasion flew to New York, the cost £2,450.

While there he stayed at the Algonquin Hotel for six nights for £1,650 to investigate anti-terrorist measures.

Concrete bollards were later put outside some Subway stations.

He could have got the information by picking up a phone and making a local call to the Police.

New SPT placemen from Glasgow Labour Party Jonathan Findlay said;

“This proposal, subject to the approval of the personnel committee, will bring this long-running saga to a close this allows us to move on, to draw a line under the issue and most importantly give staff assurances about their future.”

Same trough, new faces.

And all Labour Party, hand me the sickbag and I feel like I am going to spew.

Yours sincerely
