SNP Candidates sign up to Community Charter, pledge of "accessibility, accountability and openness" that would set out the standards they will follow

Dear All

As the Political parties in Scotland hit the election trail during the second weekend of campaigning ahead of the Westminster poll on 6 May, the fighting for seats heats up.

In Glasgow North East, residents are signing up to a petition calling for an independent inquiry into Labour controlled Glasgow City Council.

There is anger that the Glasgow Labour Party would not investigate the Steven ‘bin laden’ Purcell scandal.

This issue raised by SNP Candidate Billy McAllister plays well with voters on the street.

This weekend also sees SNP deputy leader Nicola Sturgeon launched the party's Community Charter in Glasgow.

So, what is the Community Charter?

The Community Charter is a pledge of "accessibility, accountability and openness" that would set out the standards they will follow if elected as MPs.

It is a real commitment to protect public services and to put the interests of constituents first.

In other words it is the return of public service which has been shunned by parties such as the Labour Party.

Nicola Sturgeon said;

"This is about MPs doing their job properly. Too often in the past many MPs have failed to live up to their constituents' expectations."

And that has been the problem. Labour MPs such as Tom Harris who takes public money to run an office but won’t tell you;

If it is open to the public

Post office opening hours

And of course advertise where it is.

Patently this is representation.

What the Glasgow SNP Candidates are signing up for is what the Labour Party has failed to deliver.

Help for people.

As Billy McAllister and his local team fight to win the seat of Glasgow North East, they face a hard task but unlike Labour Candidate William Bain, they are prepared to do the work and they are prepared to tell the truth.

People just need to stop for a few minutes and hear the truth of what the Glasgow Labour Party have been up to.

One thing for sure is that the SNP has already attracted interest by their campaign; Strathclyde Police are already doing a criminal investigation.

Yours sincerely
