Moira Stuart, the BBC's top newsreader returns to work for BBC Radio 2

Dear All

Recently, I wrote a post about Moira Stuart, the premise the BBC should take her back as a newsreader because she is the best newsreader.

Newsreader Moira Stuart is to make a comeback by joining the line-up for Radio 2's new breakfast show.

Well done the BBC for acting on my suggestion but only part correct.

Moira Stuart should return at some point to BBC news flagship programmes.

The BBC acted disgracefully in letting her go in the first place, this return is long overdue in my opinion.

Controller of Radio 2 Bob Shennan said;

“Moira is a much-loved broadcaster and I am thrilled that she is joining Radio 2”.

It seems that every once in a while people of merit get the respect they deserve.

For DJ Chris Evans, this is a coup, he said;

“It doesn't get any better than Moira Stuart. The voice, the authority, the style, the class, plus a side of her the majority of people have never seen before.

'She's funny, she's cheeky and dare I say it - ever such a little bit naughty. Always brilliant on the telly, I predict she's going to be even better on the radio. In fact I know she will be.”

Hopefully the BBC won’t make this mistake again.

Moira Stuart isn’t just a newsreader; she is one of the icons of British Society.

Yours sincerely
