Here is a gem; the Government's equality chief is under threat today as Whitehall officials are reported to be preparing to block his reappointment.
Trevor Phillips was previously a Labour Party Candidate and has always been dogged by controversy; I personally never thought he was the right person to be in charge of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
His contract comes up for renewal in the autumn and he should go and fresh pro active leadership should be brought in to tackle the discrimination that has flourished under New Labour.
That has been obscene.
Another disturbing fact is that Phillips is £110,000 for a three-and-a-half day week.
Discrimination in this country requires a full time appointee.
Critics have questioned his approach, claiming the commission has failed to make sufficient impact, with senior figures calling on him to step down. The rise of the BNP is evidence I feel that his efforts have been less than successful.
Trevor Phillips is nothing but a placeman who covers for the Labour Government to give the illusion of attempting to right wrongs and fairness.
He is a joke.
Here is an example of how funny he is; Phillips was forced to quit as director of a management consultancy last year for giving paid advice to Channel 4 over the 2007 Big Brother race row.
He should have done this for free as part of his job.

His organisation should a force to be reckoned with but it is just another quango in a sea of quangos.
And that is his failure.
