Dr. Omer Butt needs to be struck off the Dental Register.

Dear All

Medical treatment is a matter of great concern to the public and anyone who breaches the code of ethics has no place working in the medical profession.

Doctors and Dentists have special responsibilities of trust that they must adhere to.

Enter Dr. Omer Butt, a dentist who faces being struck off after refusing to treat Muslim patients unless they wore Islamic dress. He ordered female patients to wear headscarves and forced men to take off jewellery before allowing them into the dentists' chair.

There is no place in medicine for religious practices.

Butt continued to enforce his religious dress code beliefs despite previously being warned by the General Dental Council. In other words he showed contempt for the ruling body he was a professional member of.

One woman victim of his was forced to leave the clinic in pain after refusing to cover her head.

This is absolutely disgraceful conduct and he should be struck from practicing as a dentist.

Butt in evidence describe himself as a Muslim first and a dentist second which is fine outside the treatment room.

While caring for patients he should be a dentist first and last.

Butt obviously wants to prove a point as he is the older brother of extremist Hassan Butt, so the GDC must also make a point by striking him off as unfit to practice; he is going to continue with this nonsense unless it is stamped out.

A clear message has to be sent out that the medical profession is about the sole welfare of treating the sick and injured without prejudice; it is not a religious battleground.

Yours sincerely

Oh my, your ignorance is astounding. Have you ever met Dr Butt? Where does such confidence in your opinion originate? I think you should take a little time to educate yourself and form a more intelligent opinion. Take to your room and read. Be best for you.
