Wings Over Scotland blogger Stuart Campbell arrested over allegations of online trolling against a woman in her 30’s, he insists he has done nothing wrong, already some people are floating that this is a “Britnat establishment” conspiracy, Campbell has been bailed till September, ‘who shot JR’ had more excitement

Dear All

It seems that the pro-independence blogger behind Wings Over Scotland has been arrested over claims of online harassment.

Police Officers have decided to arrest Stuart Campbell after a woman came forward alleging she was the victim of a two-year campaign of online abuse.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said:

“On 18 August a man aged in his 40s was arrested at an address in the Avon and Somerset area on suspicion of harassment and malicious communications. He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-September. Enquiries continue.”

Already the possibility of a conspiracy theory has emerged as a person calling himself Alex McEwan online said:

“I have been waiting for this; my only surprise is that it has taken so long for Stuart Campbell to become the subject of police enquiry... It's what the britnat establishment does”.

“Britnat establishment”, you have to find this incredibly funny, with the Nationalist teeth drawn, Salmond, Robertson and some other non entities out in the street, Sturgeon getting ‘fanny fright’ over indyref 2, why would anyone bother to make up a conspiracy.

In defending his innocence, Stuart Campbell said:

“The piece by Tom Gordon (Herald Scotland) has been written for maximum innuendo to allow the wildest speculations on social media – which are of course duly taking place – but the alleged events relate entirely to some tweets from our Twitter account, none of which have been deleted and all of which are still publicly visible. Nothing more sinister or serious than some tweets has occurred or been alleged to have occurred. That’s all we’ll be saying on the subject at this time.”

49-year-old Campbell has been a prominent online campaigner for Scottish independence and runs the Wings Over Scotland website, he is a knob, his website which I have viewed is piss as well.

Despite some weak support on the Herald, it isn’t all plain sailing for Campbell, a person called Colin Robertson stated:

“I can hard contain my delight at the news that the Fake Reverend Stuart Campbell has been arrested. Totally brilliant!!”

He added:

“The man comes across as thoroughly unpleasant & disgusting. He currently is attempting to sue two people. The Wings Over Scotland website is a disgrace to Scotland & those who support & fund it should be ashamed of themselves. There are many who post here on the Herald & the very poor National who support & fund Wings Over Scotland. I hope the fake Reverend gets his comeuppance.

I'm off to celebrate”.

Does the possible downfall of Stuart Campbell warrant a celebration?

Stirling-born Campbell is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale, he apparently wants £25,000 in damages after he was accused of allegedly making homophobic comments.

At the present moment Stuart Campbell has said:

“For sucky reasons totally outwith my control (don’t ask), posts on Wings will be very sparse for an unknown period. Sorry, folks.”

Campbell has been bailed which no doubt some people will be disappointed that he isn’t held in prison, but the prison system is stretched at the moment so he can’t add ‘political prisoner’ to the CV.

Martin McDonald said on the drama:

“Looks like a co-ordinated move. Have we ever seen hundreds of positive feedbacks on unionist posts before? Today there are some at 107 and 108 within an hour. Very unusual”.

To which a Griff Geddes replied:

“Co-ordinated by whom and for what purpose? Do you seriously believe that the "establishment" (however you define it) has nothing better to do than "co-ordinate" some kind of "move" against an odious wee guy sitting at a computer in Bath? Or are you saying that the police shouldn't investigate complaints made to them if the person complained about happens to be a separatist blogger and mouthpiece?”

Finally, I find this story to be as Geddes said about a odious wee guy sitting at a computer in Bath vaguely amusing, but does it rate front page on the Herald Scotland website? I hardly think so, Campbell has a few diehard followers but really he is just a voice among many in the Nationalist camp with nothing of worth to say that is worth hearing.

The guy is a complete tool!

Yours sincerely

A complete tool indeed but someone, or some group is getting people banned/blocked in the Scottish digital silk rags. I've gave up. You can't win. Any negative mention about the SNP and a few days later. We all know what happens.

What a tool, open ur eyes and ur mind, regardless of what u think of Stuart Campbell can u honestly say Scottish people are being treated with fairness and respect by Westminster and the almost absolute support they have from mainstream media?! Whose human rights do u claim to be defending?! What a joke.

Stuart might as well call his web site Wings over Krankie, or Krankie over Scotland. At least in Bella Caledonia you get the right of free speech. They actually allow criticism of Krankie.

Wings over Bath is a hate site. A quick read through the comments section makes you feel like you need to go and wash out your eyes and brain. I can't believe anyone takes it seriously except diehard nats.
