Craig Roy is jailed for at least 18 years in the murder of teenager Jack Frew, George Laird gets sentence out by 2 yrs, need to study more law books!

A while ago, I was commenting on the Jack Frew murder.

Given the seriousness of the crime, the violence involved, I opined that a sentence in the region of 16 years would be about right.

It seems that I was 2 years out on the sentencing.

Craig Roy has been order to serve least 18 years before he can ask to be released.

Judge Lord Doherty told him:

"You carried out a brutal, sustained and merciless attack which left your victim dead and mutilated."

For the family of Jack Frew, nothing can compensate them for their loss, but at least justice has been done in this case.

Murder is a horrible and wicked crime, Craig Roy didn’t kill to defend to stop him being harmed; he went with a plan, motive and violent intent.

And he deserves to spend every day in prison.
