Hearts Footballer Craig Thomson placed on sex offenders register for lewd, libidinous and indecent behaviour towards two girls, aged 12 and 14
Dear All
Footballer players are seen as role models as soccer plays such a large part in society.
Turn on a sports programme and soccer comes up to more or less to dominate the entire show.
Recently, the Ryan Giggs scandal has been played out in the papers, Parliament and elsewhere.
Sex scandals always raise an interest.
However, Hearts footballer Craig Thomson has been placed on the sex offenders register after pleading guilty to two charges of indecent behaviour.
He is only 20 years old.
Found guilty of lewd, libidinous and indecent behaviour towards two girls, aged 12 and 14, over the internet.
He also fined £4,000.
The player, who appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court, had a not guilty plea to a third charge accepted.
A statement from Hearts said the club was "aware of the verdict".
The Scottish Premier League club said it would go through the "necessary internal procedures relating to the case".
Hearts issued a brief ditto that the club will make no further comment at this stage.
It is believed that a meeting will be held with the player next week once Hearts' senior management return from holiday.
Hearts' squad are due to report at Tynecastle on Wednesday at the start of pre-season training.
This is another example of people who have everything throwing it all away by acts of their own stupidity.
People in public life have to set an example; Craig Thomson’s life is in ruins.
Yours sincerely

How can Vlad justify keeping on the registered sex offender? We have a duty to protect all our children. There is a peaceful demonstration going to take place at tynecastle on the 17th of july. please wear your own clubs shirts if you want so we can all show solidarity no matter what team we support or not as the case may be. There is a campaign on facebook to promote peaceful protest against Vlad,s decision. lets stick together and go for this. We as decent human beings cannot condone this.
