Dear All
Part of the fantasy that Alex Salmond and
Nicola Sturgeon are spinning away like mad is that Scotland is about to be on
the brink of a second Oil boom.
As well as the second Oil boom there is
supposed to be a boom in renewable energy waiting in the wings.
Apparently everyone didn’t notice but Alex
Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon did!
Joke!
Through-out this dreadful and inept
Scottish independence campaign, the ‘Oil’ that has bubbled to the surface is
hate.
Hate is the ‘Oil’ that drives the SNP
campaign, although the hate flows like tap water, brains dried up a long time
ago.
To return to Oil, the real stuff, there is
cause for concern as there been a sharp decline in production of oil and gas
from British waters.
Industry leaders say this worrying, Oil and
Gas are obviously useful natural assets to have, but like any assets, their
availability and price is a constant problem, especially when budgets are set
round predicted revenue streams which might not materalise.
At present the Trade body Oil and Gas UK
says there is record investment this year of £13.5bn. Although welcomed, this
investment is won’t always be the case.
The SNP is staking a lot on their previous
failed strategy of its Scotland’s Oil used in the 1970’s that SNP campaign
failed!
In the annual report by Oil and Gas UK,
there is a warning; the industry's economic impact highlights a sharp fall in
output of 19% during 2011 and 14% in 2012.
If such cuts were passed onto through the
system, Scotland’s vital services would be devastated, cuts to services and
massive job losses, although the SNP present cuts as “efficiency savings”,
there isn’t much room for slack.
Imagine for a moment a 19% cut in services.
Imagine one fifth of all public sector jobs
gone.
One of the things which I have constantly
highlighted is the need for Scottish Government and local government reform to
address underlying problem issues.
George Laird right again!
The news is bad; the industry says there
will be continuing decline, an unhealthy further drop of at least 8.5% during
this year, with no recovery next year.
Malcolm Webb, chief executive of Oil and
Gas UK, said:
"There is much more that needs to be
done. Despite impressive investment in new developments, the production
efficiency of existing assets has been in worrying decline, with a number of
fields failing to produce as expected. The Department of Energy and Climate
Change (in Whitehall) and the industry are working to tackle this serious
concern through a joint task group."
Yesterday, we saw that SNP Minister John
Swinney had to correct false information on job numbers which wrongly highly an
increase.
Today we are seeing a report that Alex
Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon should have had plans in place to deal with.
There is simply no substance, no work done
and no vision having been done to make a credible attempt at Scottish
independence.
The reality is that Scottish independence
has been lost, not because Scotland is too poor, too wee and too stupid, but
these traits can be found in the SNP leadership, they are completely out of
their depth.
Oil is gushing in Scotland, the Oil of hate
from the Scottish National Party, everywhere else the black stuff is drying up!
Yours sincerely
George Laird

The SNP don't let the voters know that in some oil fields the cost of extraction is the same as the wholesale price.
ReplyDelete1.5 trillion pounds is not the money available to the Government. Salmond conveniently leaves out how much it costs to land it.
Smoke mirrors and snake oil.
Time he came clean.
He should admit he's selling a pup.
