Scottish independence: Alex Salmond says that an Independent Scotland can keep pound and get AAA rating, Salmond compares Scotland with the Isle of Man, Scotland 5 million people, Isle of Man 85k, Salmond need to grow up quickly, hey nutter!

Dear All

Scotland’s ‘jolly fat man’ Alex Salmond says that an independent Scotland would be able to keep the pound and achieve the AAA credit rating.

Based on what?

Does he really think that if he can’t get lender of last resort from the Bank of England that Scotland will have a triple AAA rating?

That is such nonsense, and to compare an independent Scotland with the Isle of Man is simply ridiculous.

As this independence campaign goes on, the further Alex Salmond digs a deep hole for himself and the Yes Campaign.

Assumptions are not facts!

Although the Manx pound is pegged to sterling, the small size of the Isle of Man makes them more able to withstand pressures.

In Scotland’s case due to the size, the same pressures would be disastrous.

Salmond is expected to say:

"The No campaign which self describes itself as 'Project Fear' once argued that the UK's AAA status was crucial to Scotland's economic prospects and the reason for rejecting Scottish independence. Now that AAA has been junked they haven't even withdrawn the leaflets which purveyed such nonsense."

This is grasping at straws, and to bring this up and somehow elevate Salmond as some kind of visionary is bizarre.

Arc of prosperity anyone?

And what about the RBS scandal backed to the hilt by him, this would have crippled Scotland.

Salmond is trying to promise that as a matter of fact there will be a currency union with the rest of the UK.

This is not guaranteed, and so far the noises coming from Westminster are there won’t be.

The Isle of Man, which has a population of 85,000, key areas of responsibility still remain with the UK such as defence and foreign affairs.

Absolutely nothing like Scotland in any shape or form!

A spokesman for Better Together said:

"Alex Salmond seems to be losing the plot. Yesterday he announced that his plans for separation would be written by a fiction writer then he said Ireland wasn't a foreign country. Now he is looking at an island with a population the size of Paisley as an example for a nation of five million. The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency and is not in a currency union with the UK. It has no central bank and no lender of last resort. Is he honestly trying to tell the people of Scotland that it is a good idea to have no-one standing behind our banks and to have no say in how our mortgage or savings rates are set?"

The more Salmond talks the more out of touch and bizarre he appears to get!

Apparently he wants a few jokes for his speeches, perhaps he should employ someone who isn’t an out and out rocket with the ability to tell the truth and leave the fantasy at home for his sycophantic.

In the big Boy’s playground, it isn’t enough to be just physically clinically obese; you need brains, vision and a plan.

And he needs to learn that assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups!

Yours sincerely
