Bank holiday strikes to hit Glasgow's top museums, Bridget McConnell gets a six figure salary but produces third rate service, she should resign

Dear All

The ‘summer of discontent’ continues unabated in the Aleos created by the Labour Council of shame in Glasgow.

Culture and Sport staff is planning more strike action!

That means some of Scotland's busiest museums and galleries will be closed over part of the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Culture and Sport is run by Bridget McConnell, the wife of Jack McConnell Labour MSP.

She is steering the organisation onto the rocks as people are starting to wonder why she isn’t fixing the problems.

Her paid is in the region of £132k a year.

Four unions at Culture and Sport Glasgow have earmarked two 24-hour strikes in an ongoing dispute over pay.

Vvenues such as the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, Burrell Collection and People's Palace will be shut to the public.

Dates of the 28th and 31st of May have been set for the strike action which is shaping up to be a verdict of the Labour Council of shame!

Labour created these organisations to shed staff and cut wages and conditions.

Martin Doran, regional organiser for GMB Scotland, said;

"There will be two 24-hour stoppages and, as of Friday this week, there will be an overtime ban in place as well. This means no one will be working any additional hours that are requested of them. The silence is deafening coming from the senior management team at Culture and Sport Glasgow. The last set of talks we had was on the morning of the first day of the dispute."

It is time the Unions realised that the only protection from the Labour Party is to vote SNP and engage with the Scottish Government.

Glasgow is run as a Labour fiefdom for the benefit of the few to the determent of the many.

It is only a matter of time before this spreads to other Aleos controlled by the Labour Party members.

City Building staff is calling on the board to resign.

Cordia staff faces 800 job losses or a cut in pay and conditions.

It seems that all roads lead to the Labour Council of shame.

Every Labour controlled Aleo is imploding in some respect.

It is time the SNP Government took the step to set up an independent inquiry into Glasgow City Council and Aleos into how jobs and contracts have been awarded.

The Steven 'bin laden' Purcell era needs transparency and illumination.

Yours sincerely
