Weak Labour MP William Bain's record of failure on addressing the crime families in the North of the City speaks volumes, more people die

Dear All

One of the most noticeable aspects of the Scottish National Party concerns is their drive to tackle the high profile crime families which operate in the North of the City.

SNP Councillor Billy McAllister has been at the forefront of highlighting the problem caused by these people.

The Glasgow Labour Party reaction led by Labour MP William Bain and the Labour Council of shame is marked by their refusing to address the issues and burying their heads in the sand.

Labour MP William Bain isn’t even putting up the pretence of trying.

With William Bain, it is soundbyte not substance.

The Glasgow Labour Party’s refusal to act allowed the Lyon’s family to take over the Chirnsyde Community Initiative.

Things came to ahead when violence flared and killings occurred at the Lyon’s owned MOT station in Lambhill.

Then and only then despite repeated protests by residents living in fear did the Glasgow City Council act to close down the Chirnsyde Community Initiative.

It is another part of the Steven ‘bin laden’ Purcell legacy in Glasgow.

Now, Paul Lyons, a member of the notorious Glasgow crime family has admitted killing a man during a road rage incident.

Lyons, 28, rammed 32-year-old Mark Fleeman's van on the M74 motorway near Larkhall in June last year.

Fleeman was killed and his young passenger Lee Allsup was seriously injured in the fatal incident.

After the crash, Lyons fled to Spain but was extradited back to Scotland after being arrested by Spanish police.

He has since pled guilty to culpable homicide and attempting to defeat the ends of justice. He also admitted injuring Mr Allsup to his permanent impairment and a charge of dangerous driving.

In other words, using section 196 (1) of the Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995 to get a reduction in sentence.

Jennifer Harrower, District Procurator Fiscal for Team Angiolini (Hamilton branch) was handed an open and shut case after one of Lyons passengers, James Tulloch cough up when arrested by the Police in an unrelated matter.

He told police he had been in Lyons' van, there had been "a road rage incident" and that "we rammed them".

Lawyers for Lyons have since said he accepted his conduct had been utterly irresponsible and stupid and he expressed remorse to his victims' families.

I suspect the sudden remorse is more to do with getting a lighter sentence than regret.

It seems that people like SNP Councillor Billy McAllister will have to continue their fight to rid Glasgow of the Crime gangs since the Glasgow Labour Party is sitting this particular fight out.

Glasgow is still waiting for Labour MP William Bain to crackdown on crime.

Yours sincerely
