This blog will be getting phased out, if you enjoy this blog, then please follow the link to my new one.
In order to make improvements to the content, I have decided to incorporate more videos on my thoughts about the political scene in the UK, Scotland and beyond.
Thank you for supporting and reading this blog over the years, and I will keep it as an archive of what my views were on a range of topics over the 10 plus years of operation.
George..
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I came across your website.
I believe it was something to do with Tommy Sheridan a long time ago.
I've had it bookmarked for years. I will add the new site.
One of the problems with modern day politics is that politicians do not want to be interviewed; they do not want to be questioned by journalists at-all. Adam Boulton of Sky News was saying that the other day. He can remember politicians up to and including Tony Blair would make themselves available for a half-hour interview. Now Boris Johnson refuses; refuses to allow Cabinet Ministers to go onto the Today programme at Radio 4 for example. For me, it's a failure and an abdication and I smelt a rat immediately he started acting that way.
ReplyDeleteThe Council elections will be interesting you know. In many ways, the smartest vote is to vote Tory and then you will see money getting spent in your area. The SNP and Labour have had long enough and are as bad as each other.
Last week Kate Forbes was made to look like a mug over Pensions. This week it's Freeports. England has the green light for 10 Freeports already. Holyrood has spent a year arguing over what to call them - 'Freeports' or 'Greenports'. They've finally settled on 'Green Freeports'. The dream may not be entirely dead, but it's no longer breathing. Even Alex Salmond reckoned that Kate Forbes was the best they had. We'd be best closing the place down now. It's now good money after bad.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with this. Most folk that do this don't hang around for long, but you have. I find it adds some energy, as politics in Scotland is dead. We have Holyrood which is a talking shop full of vapid folk. It's actually getting worse year on year and this rule the SNP have of not criticising the leader has killed it stone dead. It's like an old-folks home for aging simpletons and the Scotland Office want to do absolutely nothing, that's despite their new office in Edinburgh. I find the most convincing politician these days is Michael Gove. Many will disagree, but he's all-action. I don't know how many people he convinces but he convinces me.
ReplyDeleteI'm very worried about this and a lot of other stuff that's going on (or seems to be going on) except nobody says boo to a goose about it. There was a place (no names, no backdrill) where a certain party (or certain parties) were observed exchanging pieces of paper (notes). It reminded me (I'll say no more) of the very first time I visited Stockholm which was the same year that (not coincidentally) Big Brother started on the British version of the AAPFFTB-DM (Anglo-American Pap Fodder For The Brain-Dead Masses). Cruel, I know. Some of us see through the self-imposed miasma of drivel. The subdued and intoxicated masses see NOTHING. We might as well give them all a Charles and Chamilla cocaine-inhaling-kit and send them to the Falklands. It makes me want to laugh but when I try I weep. I gush a fountain. Like Vicky Carr - thank the Observer (if he exists) for the insights and wisdom. Thank You.
ReplyDeleteThere is a big thing going on with Prince Harry and Princess Megan to give her her real title. The wife of a prince is a princess. Like Princess Street in Edinborough. But they are trying to cancel the Prince and Princess of People's Hearts.
ReplyDeleteEverybody loves Megan and Harry. And nobody likes Prince Charles and Queen Parker Bowles. And how come sh'es a queen if he;s only a prince. It doesnt make sense to anyone. I dont call him Prince Charles anymore. I call him Price Charles.
