Dear All
Have you noticed the temperatures in Scotland are falling fast, it is bitterly cold, people on low incomes who face the prospect of 'heat or eat', they aren't getting much help from SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon and her SNP Government. The real people who will suffer unbelievably the most, are the homeless, who live on the streets of Scottish cities. The lucky ones will go the places like the Glasgow Homeless Night Shelter, but that is just a bed for the night. Homeless people need access to hot food and drinks because their day for bulk of it, is spent outside. Normally in places like Glasgow, venues like Glasgow City Mission, Lodge House Mission and locations like libraries would afford them the opportunity to get out of the cold. Our libraries are a go to destination for many vulnerable people which are now are shut again.
To my surprise, SNP Leader Nicola Sturgeon is considering closing down 'takeaways'. This is a prime resource for many homeless people who don't have access to cooking facilities. If a person cannot maintain a reasonable body temperature, they are at serious risk of cold related illness and death. Is Nicola Sturgeon so backward and incompetent that she never thinks through the garbage she utters that passes for possible proposed policy? Sturgeon is what I term a 'cut and paste' politician, she is bereft of original thought, because everything she does has no depth to it.
https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/nicola-sturgeon-says-takeaway-services-23284842
Where does the poor and homeless go when their sources of hot food are removed?
Was there a risk assessment by the Scottish Government of shutting down takeaways?
What facilities will Nicola Sturgeon put in place to offset the closure plan if she follows through and closes 'takeaways' down?
Why does Nicola Sturgeon think limiting opportunities for the vulnerable is a move to be considered at all?
My contention is that SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon is a bad leader, stupid and dangerous, her gesture politics are a dead weight on the governance of Scotland. In the midst of the pandemic, Sturgeon has failed the people of Scotland. This is increasingly looking like abuse of power and abuse of ministerial office. The reality of Sturgeon's handling of the pandemic is that she has failed in the most key areas, such as public health messaging, which she deliberately has made political. Scottish people are ignoring her appeals because her incompetence has cost so many people their lives. It's like realisation that you aren't willing to get in the car with the drunk driver despite their protestations they can get you where you want to go. Scotland has parted company with Nicola Sturgeon sometime ago, you can hazard a guess and say, maybe it was because Sturgeon allowed infected people into sterile care homes of the elderly, but whatever reason Scots have, they have turned off and tuned out.
What is the plan to win back the Scottish public with health messaging?
I think the answer to that is none! You see like Hitler in the bunker, Sturgeon still thinks she is a mastermind who can still win victory. The virus is everywhere because Nicola Sturgeon politicised health messaging in the hope of 'rigging' the Holyrood 2021 election by using the media as her platform. 2021, the SNP will promote Sturgeon, every constituency leaflet with probably feature her and the candidate side by side, with them gushing how they are so grateful for Sturgeon being in charge. All the failures of Nicola Sturgeon will of course not be mentioned, but grievance politics against Westminster will be. Nonsense will be written about hope, about moving Scotland forward, but nothing about those who died and will die on Nicola Sturgeon's watch. Every candidate for the SNP will not be quality, we have already seen what passes in the SNP for selection.
In the wake of SNP failure to control covid, Scotland's Deputy First Minister John Swinney has said because Scots are not staying at home as much as they did at the start of the first lockdown, Sturgeon maybe is going to put in place tougher restrictions. As we saw previously, the SNP operates on the 'one rule for them, another rule for the rest of us'. The public saw this from Sturgeon herself, she gets to travel around, she gets to go to social events, she gets to turn up at facilities that she is neither qualified to be at and no business being at during covid. She swans about in £100,000 plus private limo doing photo ops while the real business of government is left like a newspaper on a grass verge at the roadside. So, why is Swinney playing the political thug for Sturgeon? The answer is simple, so she can have clean hands, and so she can step in and tweak things for political advantage, Swinney is the sap, he is the daft workie and Sturgeon is his boss who saves the day. The nonsense of I will sort it out, I'm your pal, I'm on your side'.
Swinney made his more lockdown comments while giving "evidence" to Holyrood's Covid-19 Committee. Is evidence the right word to use when the SNP interacts with Holyrood Committees or is it better to say, offloading biased opinion accumulated from watching measures of others elsewhere. Swinney says the Scottish Government is monitoring public transport use, traffic data and other information. So, is he implying the infection rates are being transported by the use of vehicular traffic, train, bus and airplane? I get the impression that they are so out of their depth that they are cling to anything to say as a 'filler' because deep down they don't know.
Swinney said:
"The volumes of movement in society are greater than they were in the period immediately following lockdown in March 2020. We are monitoring those issues very carefully, with a view to potentially having to put in further measures that would further constrain the ability of individuals to have reasonable excuse to be at work, for example, and for employers to essentially justify individuals being at work."
Swinney offers the opinion that there is "still too much movement in society. Isn't the fact that Sturgeon and Swinney by cramming and restricting choices only compound infection rates? If limiting access to outlets for food, increases opportunity for infections should the strategy be to have staggered consumerism? Shouldn't we also have staggered working so that crowding can be avoided? Why is it, a guy like me, sitting at a desk with limited resources typing on an aged pc can pull ideas out, and Sturgeon and Swinney, along with the Cult haven't two brain cells to rub together when it comes to dispersal of people? It took me a few minutes to workout we need staggered consumerism and staggered working as a reduction measure. This way we can also keep fast food places open so vulnerable people can access hot food, it seems no one in the SNP Government is looking out for them.
Mr Swinney added:
"I want to be clear with the committee that these are issues that we are monitoring very closely and carefully and may result in us taking further action to apply greater restrictions if we don't see a fall in the level of infectiousness within the country."
Monitoring very closely? Let me be clear? It seems Swinney is tied to buzzwords in the hope that the right 'noises' somehow fool everyone. Someone I read online said Swinney previously was an insurance salesman, if he was he should expect a raft of people at his door cashing in their policies for his defective governance. Two metres apart obviously!
Finally, is there a way to reinstate public health messaging in Scotland? Is there a way to make people change their habits? Will Sturgeon remove herself from her daily political broadcasts masquerading as covid briefings? How does Nicola Sturgeon win back the trust of the people of Scotland which she lost? She lost the indyref battle in 2014, she lost the Brexit battle 2016, and she has lost the covid battle 2020 and carrying that onto 2021. She lost your trust, the trust of communities, and people's patience is wearing thin. Why is the Louisa Jordan hospital not treating patients? Why can't the SNP under Sturgeon do anything thing right? Why can't they organise a vaccine rollout that works at 100% capacity?
The SNP want to run an independent country but they can't organise getting an injection into someone's arm?
Yours sincerely

I live literally 5 mins walk from McDonalds and KFC. I rarely use them (trying to eat healthy) but closing takeaways is basically bloody stupid. There's a few takeaways where I live and all of them have social distancing and other similar measures in place, with people respecting them.
ReplyDeletePerhaps if the SG wasn't wasting millions of pounds on overseas missions to promote independence there would be plenty of money to provide the homeless with both shelter and food.
She is living up to her nickname of "Nippy". I know she is under immense pressure with a million things to consider, but she volunteered herself to be the First Minister. She appears to have difficulty in dealing with difficult but relevant questions, and takes it personally.
We need a VOTE OF NO-CONFIDENCE in Swinney. That's all that will work. Wind-up Education Scotland and bag all of the SNP political appointees that sit in chairs there all day doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteWe were close to getting rid of him a few months ago and it was the Greens that saved him. That may not happen next time.
Big countries like Canada and Australia will not get their hands on appreciable amounts of vaccine until March. We have ours now thanks to membership of the UK.
ReplyDeleteSmall countries like Hungary and Greece will get some due to their membership of the EU. But countries which are not members will get nothing.
Scotland outside the EU and outside the UK would quickly become third-world
Touché.
ReplyDeleteYou are 100% right about the incompetence.
You of course have a point about shutting takeaways yes the vulnerable use them and places like Greggs. There are also a lot of restaurants in the city doing takeaway services as a means of simply covering some of their fixed costs and trying to keep themselves afloat. Closing this option will only further decimate the hospitality sector and increase unemployment levels not that they care much.
ReplyDeleteHi Freddy,
ReplyDeleteThe amount of bad ideas she produces is staggering, she is out of touch with the poor, she has no idea of the hell they go through.
George
Fabulous article in today's Telegraph re Sturgeon misleading the Shortbread Senate. Written by old Alex Salmond. 4-months before the election....I was hoping this would happen. He is going after the 'sisters-grotesque' of Sturgeon and Evans.
ReplyDeleteI never had much time for Salmond believing there was far too much flannel there but, having said that, I would trust him before Sturgeon any day of the week.
Both Sturgeon and Salmond, plus that fat fanny Murrell, are up before the old worthies of Holyrood, Jackie Baillie and Linda Fabiani, before the end of the month.
In the First Minister's own Constituency, there is a takeaway which sits at the corner of Cathcart Rd & Calder St, who have worked tirelessly and without recognition to feed the homeless,in and around Govanhill. It's unlikely Nicola is aware of this, after all it's not somewhere she pays the slightest bit of attention to and it certainly won't be her who goes without a free, hot meal if she closes it down. Respect to everyone at Wokstar, keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteWell said sir fear for our country under this dictatorship
ReplyDeleteI notice that Swinney's chosen 'HM Chief Inspector of Education', Gayle Gorman has just introduced Scotland's materials for on-line learning. It does strike me that she is 9-months or so too late.
ReplyDeleteThere's a small amount of stuff for primaries 2-6, plus a surprisingly large amount of that 14th Century agricultural language Gaelic, which something like 0.1% of Scots folk can either speak or understand.
There's nothing for secondary school pupils. If they want on-line learning, big Gayle advises then to tune into the BBC.
Why does no-one complain about this crap? I'll bet you big-Gayle's on £120,000/annum.
Alex Salmond's submission to the Shortbread Senate Salmond Inquiry is printed in full in the Wings over Scotland website.
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt that the grotesque sisterhood of Sturgeon and Evans tried their best to bankrupt him and send him to jail for many years.
It is fascinating the number of SNP folk who still seek to justify this behavior. I personally doubt if you would see it in many other countries in the world - perhaps in no other country in the world outside Central Africa.
We must all be going soft in Scotland if we think this is OK.
What about examining the role of women in Scottish public life? They are everywhere now...in charge of Holyrood, our civil service, our education and they are all crap. I don't know whether it is because they are corrupt themselves (although I think in the case of Sturgeon and Evans we can safely say they are) or maybe it's because they are lazy and lack foresight
ReplyDeleteand organisational skills, but Scotland has tuned into one motherfecker of a corrupt and backwards wee country.
Joe Fitzpatrick, who was admittedly useless, has been replaced by Angela Constance. Does anyone else in Scotland possess a brain more ill-equipped to process complexity than her?
'Eck hooked himself a Sturgeon and is now reeling it in.'
ReplyDelete'Who'll be gone first....Trump....or Sturgeon?'
Great article.
ReplyDeleteBut forget the pandemic or the screw up of distance learning. As far as Swinney is concerned Nicola is whiter than white and independence is now the cure to the pandemic.
Swinney is a hard-line 'Brits out of Scotland' Republican. He wants to align us with the Republic of Ireland rather than with the rest of the UK.
ReplyDeleteMost Scots don't go-along with that line of thinking at-all. Most Scots were born here and have a family history spanning two World Wars. They will remember that these wars were fought with the English and that today's grievances, from Swinney, Blackford and the rest of the SNP tools, are meaningless. They are just talk.
The SNP are at the moment a fractured party. There are those who support Salmond and those who support Sturgeon. Each despises the other. The present Holyrood Inquiry will result in a winner and a loser and do not be surprised if Sturgeon is the loser.
Scotland was the country of the Enlightenment, don't forget. That means that we shouldn't be taken-in by spoofs and snake-oil salesmen like Swinney. Some of us have been, but not nearly enough.
Have a look at Wings over Scotland when you have time.
'What this further development shows is that Sturgeon will only be removed from office forceably.
ReplyDeleteIt is clear to the blindest of blind that Sturgeon is not fit to hold office. John Swinney now comes across as the same. Unfit for office, one now has to ask what it will take to get these thugs out of office.
And thug is the operative word because political thugs are what they are. Societies become dangerous places with people like these. Abuse of power, the use of police and prosecution as a political weapon, and a disregard for Parliament, where do we go from here. You either have democracy and a rule of law or you don’t. And if don’t, then we need to find a way to restore democracy and a rule of law.
We shall wait and see if Messrs Hamilton, Michell, Baillie and Fraser are too treated like something you wipe off your shoe'.
“It feels like we are in those moments before a thunderstorm begins, with tension and electricity in the air. The birds are acting weird like they don’t know if they should take cover or get to fuck”.
ReplyDeleteAfter yesterday's disastrous performance on the politics TV programme where Swinney likened those defending Alex Salmond to 'Tories' I see the tide changing. Many, many SNP supporters, who have been supporters for decades are looking at this and are repulsed by it.
ReplyDeleteThere is a story just now of Mark Hirst, who was formerly an employee of the SNP, who was charged by Police Scotland for posting a youtube video in support of Salmond. The vacant Margaret Ferrier who took a train journey to London while infected with CV wasn't charged by the Met but now, three months later, she has been charged by Police Scotland.
I'm not an SNP supporter but those who are have not voted for this. This is the Police and the judiciary being used as a means of political suppression and I understand that there are even more stories to come-out.
Many SNP supporters now take the view that Sturgeon's time is up and she will have to go. Like Trump, she is a poison and she will not go quietly or quickly.
I truly hope that this is the beginning of the end for Holyrood and the witches that run the Scottish civil-service nowadays.
Nicola Sturgeon is touring Perthshire in the First Minister's chauffeur driven car. Suddenly a cow jumps out into the road. They hit it full on and the car comes to a stop. Nicola in her usual jaunty manner, says to the chauffeur : " You get out and check - you were driving." The chauffeur gets out, checks and reports that the animal is dead. " You were driving, go and tell the farmer," says Nicola, I can't afford to be blamed for anything. The chauffeur walks up the drive to the farmhouse and returns five hours later totally plastered, his hair ruffled and with a big grin on his face. " My God, what happened to you ?" asks Nicola. The chauffeur replies : " When I got there, the farmer opened his best bottle of malt whisky, the wife gave me a slap up meal and the daughter made love to me." " What on earth did you say?" asks Nicola. I knocked on the door and when it was answered, I said to them, I'm Nicola Sturgeon's chauffeur and I've just killed the cow."
ReplyDeleteRemember all that Sturgeon-shite about Scotland having five times less Covid cases than England. She was applauded by Scotland two vapid professors of public health Devi Sridhar and Linda Bauld for that.
ReplyDeleteTurns-out it was a load of shite (I'm sure many of us knew that already). Scotland actually does far less testing than any other UK Nation. Hence the difference.
Did you know that 22 police officers were employed trawling for evidence on Alex Salmond. They failed absolutely, didn't they.
ReplyDeleteInstead of redeploying them to other duties after the balls-up of a trial, John Swinney has targeted other enemies of the SNP - Mark Hirst, for example. He was cleared too.
The name of this elite force from plod-Alba?.....not the Sweeney.....it's the Swinney. Makes you awfully proud to be a Scot, doesn't it.
One of the Grotesque Sisterhood up before the Salmond Inquiry this morning...that dog Lesley Evans. That's her 5th time in front of old Jackie Baillie and Linda Fabiani. Something smells bad to me.
Leslie Evans got a copy of Salmond’s legal advice for the Judicial Review, under privilege, as it contained the evidence that the SG was going to get its arse booted to fuck in Court.
ReplyDeleteShe promptly shared this “confidential legal advice” with everybody from the teaboy to the office cleaner. One copy went to Judith Mackinnon, the “impartial investigating officer”, who not only shared it with the complainants, but with other witnesses.
England has delivered 2.5m vaccines to vulnerable groups already. To keep pace with England, we should have delivered 0.25m. We have, in fact, delivered 0.11m.
ReplyDeleteSturgeon's excuse 'we're waiting on supply' (in other words - blame the English)
In fact, Scotland has 400,000 doses languishing in warehouses. We don't even have the wherewithal to distribute it to where it needs to go. We appear not to have a clue.
England will have 70No rapid vaccination centres working 24/7 and so that performance gap is only going to get very much wider.
We need to remove that old political has-been Freeman and get the British Army to organize this for us.
I wonder what the vapid tools of the SNP, Linda Bauld and Devi Sridhar, have to say.....anything?
The piece on “Ms Evans claiming not to be “completely aware” about the police referral when in fact it came from her…”
ReplyDeleteIf that isnt an immediate sackable offence, well come on, give that woman another raise and contract extension!
Scottish deputy first minister Nicola Sturgeon said… “While Wendy Alexander has been author of her own misfortune, there can be no doubt that the information on her illegal campaign donation could only have come from within the inner circles of the Labour Party… Decay from within is characteristic of the decline of the New Labour project, and Wendy Alexander’s resignation is a symptom of this wider malaise.”
ReplyDeleteHow much more restrictions can we have.Fish n Chips shop's Chinese Indian ect Restraunts Fast Food Takeaways we all wear face coverings in there premises there got signage up on there doors&windows telling us how many customers can enter they premises & about the 2 meter rule and there guidelines. Not to forget the extra expense about putting hatches on windows &doors could cost them hundreds.
ReplyDeleteNow we getting treated like animals
getting you food carryouts out of a hatch and you out in the cold waiting for someone to come out to give you carry out this brainless restriction will probably put this hospitality trade out of business
England vaccinated more people in a single day that Scotland has done since vaccinations began.
ReplyDeleteSturgeon's apologist to the proletariat, Professor Devi Sridhar, congratulates Scotland on achieving the 1% milestone. England is already at 11.5% and is racing ahead. Even Wales, a tiny country, is currently vaccinating more than we are.
Scotland is a bloody shambles under Holyrood.
