Dear All
In Britain there have been some terrific comedy double acts,
Morecombe and Wise, Mike and Bernie Winters, and the Two Ronnies.
As a kid, I looked forward to the Two Ronnies show on the
BBC, Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker where exceptional.
If I had to pick a sketch, then the one in the hardware shop
does it for me.
You could pick others tho, the Phantom Raspberry Blower of
Old London Town, or those funny comedy musical numbers they did so well, and
looked like they enjoyed them.
Everything has its time, and now entertainer Ronnie Corbett,
best known for BBC comedy sketch show The Two Ronnies, has died aged 85.
His publicist said:
"Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved
entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family. They
have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time."
If there was anyone who espoused the family values of TV
comedy, then Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker held that title.
Their humour was like the slapstick humour of the summer
holiday camp, always funny and something which everyone from kids to granny
could enjoy together, who could lay claim to being able to deliver that today.
Ronnie Barker sadly died in 2005, but Ronnie Corbett went
onto be a regular fixture on UK TV, right up to the end, he was active, well known
and liked.
Corbett is survived by his wife, Anne Hart, with whom he
celebrated his golden wedding anniversary last year, and the couple's two
daughters, actresses Emma and Sophie Corbett.
The Two Ronnies ran from 1971 to 1987, the Golden Age of BBC
comedy, Ronnie Corbett was honoured by the Queen.
If you want to see an example of what Britain has lost, then
watch the youtube clip, this is one of the best sketches you can ever watch,
true family entertainment.
RIP Ronnie Corbett……… comedy hero!
Yours sincerely

Ronnie Corbett should have received a knighthood, as should have Captain Eric (Winkle) Brown RN.CBE DFC AFC. Why do we give knighthoods to useless cowns who are political cronies or for winning fucking Olympic medals.
