Dear All
When a ship is sinking, the normal rule of
thumb is to get off, preferably onto a lifeboat so that you don’t get your toes
wet.
Yes Scotland seen by many as an SNP front
is sinking like the Titanic; the iceberg in this case is the Scottish people.
They have given Yes Scotland’s message a
very frosty reception.
First to publicly jump ship and possibly not the
last, is the communications director of the Yes Scotland, she dramatically quit
the campaign after only 10 months in the job.
The offices of Yes Scotland are in Hope
Street, Glasgow, when I pass by each time, there is no one there wanting to
know about Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon’s vision.
The communications director was Susan
Stewart; she came to the post from human rights abusing Glasgow University, the
university media office used to spy on this blog. Presumably because of my
ability, without resources to get an effective message out and kick their ass
all over the internet.
Although ‘getting out while the going is
good’, Ms. Stewart has pledged to carry on working for the pro-independence
group in an ambassador role.
Wow!
That means she still gets invites to the
parties!
Stepping up to the plate is Yes Scotland
chief executive Blair Jenkins, he is expected to take a more hands-on role for
the finale of the independence campaign.
He will be the guy steering the campaign
onto the rocks at the direction of Scotland’s unpopular Deputy First Minister Nicola
Sturgeon.
Jenkins began his career in newspapers and
has mainly worked in broadcasting, so far, his performance has been poor, poll
after poll shows no one is listening to him and Alex Salmond.
Helping to save Yes Scotland is the Hay
McKerron media firm, it is said these people helped disgraced Rangers owner
Craig Whyte.
And Whyte now has a load of troubles which
require a Saint rather than a pair of spinners.
Another own goal for Alex Salmond!
As to the “campaign”, it has been stated there
would be no let-up in the intensity of the media campaign, would anyone notice
Ms. Stewart’s absence? Let’s be real, she never turned the campaign around, and
never produced the goods of even a green shoots revival.
Ms Stewart said:
"It has been a privilege to work with
Yes Scotland in its first year. I am looking forward to my new ambassadorial
role within the wider campaign but now is also the time for me to pursue other
opportunities”.
Jumping in order not to be connected to the
stigma of losing, quite so ma’am!
Ms. Stewart added:
"I am 100% committed to doing all I
can to win a Yes vote in next year's referendum because I believe that only
independence offers Scotland the opportunity to shape a fairer and more
prosperous future."
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Blair Jenkins said:
"Susan has done a great job in helping
to get Yes Scotland to a position of operating strength in its first year and I
would like to thank her for her enormous contribution to the campaign. We will
be using her talents and expertise for the benefit of the wider campaign for a
Yes vote in 2014."
How great of a job did she do, the campaign
is dead, it’s finished, its over, its pushing up the daisies, it sucks ass
dude!
In the new revamp, the Yes Scotland statement
speaks of an integrated strategy, a communications and digital media team under
chief executive Blair Jenkins.
Is he taking over the role?
Or does Nicola Sturgeon have another of her
Team Sturgeon cronies waiting in the wings which Blair Jenkins will hail as a
master media strategist.
Having seen Mr. Jenkins on TV and listened
to him on youtube, I have to say he is quite unremarkable, check out this sample
of his oratory skills as he begs people to give a pound to Yes Scotland. Presumably
he wants us to pay to feed Sturgeon’s cronies, and a few token Greens.
It’s a dire performance, devoid of life, no
spark, he doesn’t even introduce himself, what poor salesmanship, and he has
been on television regularly and worked in the media.
And the production values are crap!
One down, but not I suspect the last, only
Sturgeon’s cronies will hang on to the end, they want the pay packet.
I wonder if Susan Stewart will be crawling
back to the Glasgow University media office, Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon
are losing support and personnel.
You have to laugh!
Finally, I found this quote from Susan Stewart:
"Yes Scotland is an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I am thrilled to play a part in running a positive campaign to secure a Yes vote in 2014."

I guess the excitement must have ran out!
