It was a disastrous interview of ‘trying to hold the fort’.

Apparently there is no plan McB.

If Alex Salmond can’t get a Sterling Zone deal that means Scotland has no central bank, bottom line, I would suggest that Salmond and Sturgeon would then take Scotland into the Euro.

Alternatively, they would have to go for what is the real option, set up a separate Scottish currency.

That isn’t problem free.

Nigel Farage’s star is on the rise, his UKIP Party has capitalised on the failure of the big three UK parties to address voters concerns.

In the Eastleigh by-election, the party’s candidate saw a 24 point swing in her direction, although she didn’t win, she was by miles a much better candidate than the eventual winner from the Lib Dems.

Can UKIP keep the momentum going?

Well, things aren’t getting better and the public want change.

Austerity is crippling the UK economy.

Anyway, although UKIP has made a real breakthrough in Scotland, Nigel Farage has entered the Scottish indy debate.

He has dismissed out of hand the SNP's desire for a currency union, saying it was difficult to see how Scotland would be truly independent if a foreign country controlled its interest rates.

And he is absolutely right; we have seen the failed Euro model literally tear apart weaker countries such as Greece.

When it comes to money, there is no ‘partnership of equals’, in theory, Sterling currency union can’t work for Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon.

The rest of the UK will put their priorities ahead of Scotland.

Things would get worse in Scotland and that would lead to a move by the SNP towards the Euro and access to the European Central Bank to recapitalise Scotland.

Then, we would have all our assets sold off to pay for it, unbelievable austerity and massive cuts to the public services.

And all because Alex Salmond couldn’t be bothered to do the work for independence!

But, we should remember, the Scottish National Party is a one man band, that is why in key areas there is no detail, and what detail is forthcoming is of such poor quality.

There really is a genuine lack of talent in the Scottish National Party, the party is run as a clique, a not very intelligent clique.

Speaking to Westminster journalists, Farage denied he was England's version of Alex Salmond, saying the First Minister lived in "dreamland."

On all the major issues, NATO, EU, defence, currency, health, education and law, it’s all blowing back now.

Farage is right when he says Scotland couldn’t achieve independence while being a member of the European Union.

Down the line, we would be forced to join the Euro.

It is so obvious the road that Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon are headed, they once on the slippery slope can’t go back.

It’s why we need a separate Scottish currency.

On the issue of an independent Scotland joining the UK in a sterling zone, he said:

"Of course, Scotland can if it wishes use sterling as a means of exchange – Panama uses the US dollar – but it is difficult to see how independent a country can be if it doesn't actually control its own currency and the interest rates that effect that currency."

Mr Farage said it was a "delicious irony" that what had "sunk" the independence campaign was the assertion by Jose Manuel Barroso, the European Commission President, that an independent Scotland seeking EU membership would have to join the euro.

He added:

"The Scottish people looked at that and said no."

He went on: "You can't have it both ways... Either you are independent or you're not."

And that really sums up the current state of affairs, the ‘plans’ aren’t in place, there is no alternatives and the SNP keep making assumptions on what they think others will do, on the basis that they say so!

And that isn’t happening as George Osborne outlined, Sterling Zone isn’t on the table.

From ‘dreamland to Skintland’, the Alex Salmond journey continues, stopping off to refuel on curries.

Imagine all the independence activists who are waking up to discovered that they really have been played for mugs by Salmond!

John Swinney got an easy ride last night by Gordon Brewer, but the closer the day of Alex Salmond’s political death at the ballot box draws near, the greater the heat will be turned up.

It’s an issue of trust and as we are continually seeing, Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon can’t be trusted on anything.

That’s a problem!

It’s a separate Scottish currency and always was a separate Scottish currency for independence!
