Tory MP Nadine Dorries Joins I'm A Celebrity and abandons her constituents citing she wants to raises issues about what she cares about, anyone buying that crap?

Recently we saw Denis MacShane step down in disgrace after his carry on over expenses.

He was wrong to do what he did and paid the price, his resignation letter attempting to stick the blame on others was bizarre.

MacShane was faking invoices.

We now see that Tory MP Nadine Dorries is under fire over her decision to join ITV1's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

MPs are effectively self employed as they get elected and not the party they stand for, this right but some people shouldn’t get elected in the first place.

Ms Dorries, who represents Mid Bedfordshire, will be the first MP to take part in the show.

If she was doing this during the Parliamentary recess over the summer, I won’t have a problem with this, but it isn’t the summer and Parliament is still in session.

She is getting effectively two pay days, her MP salary and her fee for appearing.

And during the time away, she will be out of contact with her staff and constituents for what is reckoned as the bets part of a month.

Australia is very nice, but she has obligations and those obligations require her to be at her place of employment.

Dorries isn’t the first to make extra cash out of being an MP there is quite a little cottage industry right across chamber from TV appearances to after dinner speaking to MP for hire, some MPs can make thousands of extra pounds.

The system is loosely regulated which allows for a free for all.    

Home Secretary Theresa May said:

"Frankly, I think an MP's job is in their constituency and in the House of Commons."

Ms May, is speaking from the lofty heights of a Ministerial salary, ministerial perks, ministerial car etc etc.

Prime Minister David Cameron take on this situation is:

"Nadine Dorries can speak for herself on this issue."

Dorries has allegedly told the press she is taking part in order to raise awareness of issues she is interested in, such as reducing the time limit on abortions from 24 weeks to 20 weeks.

She said:

"I'm doing the show because 16 million people watch it. Rather than MPs talking to other MPs about issues in Parliament, I think MPs should be going to where people go.

"I'm not going in there to upset people, but I have opinions. There are certain causes that I'm interested in, one of which is '20 Weeks'.

"I will be talking about this issue around the campfire. I hope there will be some lively, heated debates."

F*ck off with that sh*t and that really is taking the piss!

There are TV cameras in Westminster if Ms. Dorries cares to look up.

Former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik, who took part in I'm a Celebrity in 2010 after losing his seat, tweeted his support for Ms Dorries:

"Good on Nadine Dorries for the jungle if she's really going in. Go gal!"

Mr. Opik is a clown.

Ms Dorries grabbed headlines by describing Mr Cameron and Chancellor George Osborne as "two arrogant posh boys" who were out of touch with the real world.

And now she is sitting in Australia getting a free all expenses paid holiday and a huge fat fee to boot!

Maybe Dorries wanted to get closer to the "two arrogant posh boys" who were out of touch with the real world by grabbing as much as she can.

I have an idea; the TV company flies over some of her constituents with complaints and we can see how Nadine reacts to being asked to do her job!
