New SNP role for Salmond advisor ahead of indyref, Kevin Pringle becomes head of strategic communications, bad timing, it’s a collapsing market!

Dear All

You may remember I said that sooner or later panic would set in at the Scottish National Party regarding independence.

Well, it seems that George Laird appears to be right again, Kevin Pringle, the SNP spinner has left the Scottish Government to return to a new SNP role as the SNP's head of strategic communications.

I have to say, I am glad, he should there at the end because I think a point has to be made to the SNP regarding the lack of talent in the ranks.

If Salmond and Sturgeon think Pringle is the answer to solve their problems they are sadly deluded.

And if the First Minister Alex Salmond wants to take up my £500 bet that the Yes Scotland campaign will fail and give me odds of 100/1 in a signed contract, I am still willing to take his money.

And more importantly spend the winnings!

As Alex Salmond and the SNP know or should know, George Laird is always right.

Pringle isn’t going to save anything despite being touted as one of the most effective spin doctors in Scottish politics he is entering a collapsing market, too late to turn this around.

Remember ‘A Bridge Too Far’, well this is a hole that is too deep and getting deeper!

Pringle helped Salmond to two Holyrood election victories; this was more to do with the public falling out with Labour and not any love of Salmond and the SNP. In 2011, the Labour Party under Iain Gray wasn't credible.

But Labour’s unpopularity doesn’t translate to SNP popularity.

When the Labour Party gets their act together along with other parties, the SNP will start to haemorrhage votes. Salmond doesn’t inspire me after the disgusting way he and Sturgeon left me in the lurch, well it’s a two way street.

And another thing worth mentioning, given the disaster after disaster in the news agenda of the Scottish Government, Pringle isn’t all that he is cracked up to be, he isn’t leaving that government job as a success.

As Corporal Jones famously said in Dad’s Army:

“Don’t panic, don’t panic!”

No, do panic Salmond.

Yours sincerely

George Laird
