Braveheart Alan Cumming says he was kicked out of a Gala Casino in Glasgow for doing a handstand; he wants to know what the big deal is? Respect!
Dear All
At the independence launch debacle; we saw Hollywood actor, Alan Cumming ‘tread the boards’ for Yes Scotland.
You would think that given independence is a serious issue that anyone involved in fronting such a campaign would be dignified at all times.
Alan Cumming claims he was thrown out of a Scots casino for doing a handstand.
A handstand!
You just couldn’t make this up if you tried.
Prior to the ‘historic’ handstand in a gala casino, also claims he was kicked out of a stylish Glaswegian club as he celebrated the last night of his show.
The X-Men 2 star has revealed on Twitter that he had to be “escorted” from the casino in the early hours yesterday.
Tweeting at around 2am, the Hollywood actor moaned:
“I just got kicked out of @corinthianclub with these beautiful peeps. What a nerve!”
Doesn’t everyone know that Alan Cumming is ‘fighting for Scottish independence’?
He has just started mind you and probably doesn’t know independence campaigners don't act like this, not by a long chalk!
Later it appears that the night continued to go downhill, when an hour later he tweeted:
“Omfg!! I have been chucked out of gala casino too!! For doing a handstand!”
Presumably because he lives in America, he may not know that some things in Scotland haven’t changed, like you can’t do what you like on other people’s proerty without lawful authority.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a human right to do handstands in Gala Casinos, hence being kicked out onto the streets.
Cumming then re-tweeted a pal who posted a picture of the actor doing a handstand online, writing:
“This got us ‘escorted out’ of the gala casino in Glasgow”, to show the world he actually done it.
Cumming replied to his friend:
“What’s the big deal?!”
To hazard a guess, on what the big deal is, I would say to Mr. Cumming, have respect for other people’s property by not putting your feet on the walls or anywhere else, except of course the floor and their various coverings. Stairs are also deemed acceptable and lifts too.
At around 11am, the actor tweeted to his 90,000 followers:
“Already today two people have said to me they can’t put their jobs on the line because of my potential errant behaviour. I feel bad and sad.”
Maybe in future he will become more politically and social aware, in his haste to enjoy himself, he looked foolish.
Or he could start a sub group ‘Scottish Hand standers for independence’, he can be the Chair.
Years ago at uni, I was told a story by a guy who went home with his drunk mate, during the night, the drunk guy was pissing on a wall in the flat, the hallway as I understand it.
The next morning the guy couldn’t understand why his mate’s mother was upset and said the immoral line:
“what’s the problem, I cleaned it up.”
He didn't get it either!
Yours sincerely

I believe everything said was actually very logical.
ReplyDeleteBut, consider this, what if you composed a catchier title?
I am not saying your content is not solid.,
but suppose you added a title that grabbed folk's attention? I mean "Braveheart Alan Cumming says he was kicked out of a Gala Casino in Glasgow for doing a handstand; he wants to know what the big deal is? Respect!" is kinda plain. You might look at Yahoo's front
page and see how they create post headlines to grab people to click.
You might add a video or a picture or two to get people
interested about what you've written. Just my opinion, it could make your website a little bit more interesting.
