‘Traitor’ Nick Clegg goes on a Gaddafi style rant as Lib Dems crash to a disastrous and humiliating sixth in Barnsley Central by-election

Dear All

Last night saw the Barnsley Central by-election produce an piece of cannon fodder for the Westminster lobby.

Labour won in the shape of Dan Jarvis who took over the seat after Eric Illsely was found guilty of fraud and sentenced to a year in jail.

Enough about Dan Jarvis, three sentences is pushing it but well done that boy.

The real story; was the people VS Nick Clegg.

In the wind there was talk about coming in a disastrous fourth.

What wasn’t expected but welcomed was the slaughter and humiliation of coming sixth.

That is right, sixth.

According to BBC Research, it is the biggest drop, in terms of ranking, at an English by-election since 1945.

The message from the public is very clear to the Lib Dem Party; Nick Clegg is a traitor, a quisling, a betrayer, a piece of nothingness, a pimple on the arse of humanity.

And they want their boot on his neck.

Nick’s neck is now under the political guillotine.

A deranged Nick Clegg said afterwards that the people should not "write off" the Lib Dems despite the party, ranting like Gaddafi?

They have written them off, there is now a real anti Clegg vote in British politics.

Was the price worth it?

He and Alexander, Cable and Laws have sunk the entire Lib Dem party.

The result:

Dan Jarvis (Lab) 14,724
Jane Collins (UKIP) 2,953
James Hockney (C) 1,999
Enis Dalton (BNP) 1,463
Tony Devoy (Ind) 1,266
Dominic Carman (LD) 1,012
Kevin Riddiough (Eng Dem) 544
Howling Laud Hope (Loony) 198
Michael Val Davies (Ind) 60

The second big surprise was that UKIP did so well in the shape of Jane Collins, the Tories strolled in third; the BNP snatched a fourth spot and an independent Tony Devoy grasped fifth.

Lib Dem Dominic Carman was sixth and lost his deposit.

A Mainstream party losing their deposit a further side note but worth mentioning, the cherry on the cake is incredibly bad.

Clegg said it was "obviously a bad result" for the Liberal Democrats, whose share of the vote fell from 17.2% last year to 4.1%.

Just a ‘bad’ result!

It is much more than just bad, this is serious.

May 2011 sees English council elections and the Holyrood election in Scotland although it remains to be seen whether the slump is a sign of a wider trend.

I suspect it will be in England, the Lib Dem brand is toxic which I have been saying for some time, the threat to Clegg will be his own party members; it is only a matter of time before their members will be calling for him to go.

He is the problem.

The solution is to get rid of him, the quicker the better. If I was a Lib Dem MP or MSP I would be worried about my financial future.

From second to sixth and no David Cameron help coming to the rescue to shore Clegg up this time!

Yours sincerely

  1. George

He and Alexander have been given cast iron guarantees from Cameron on their future preferments.

Loyalty to Cameron is the only wat to ensure a cosy sinecure...so the Lib Dems uncle tom cobbely an all can feck off

Alexander was in Perth for the first day of the Scottish Liberal Democrats' spring conference, on the eve of elections for the Scottish parliament. The party is trailing very badly in the polls for the 5 May elections, with public support as low as 8%.

He said Scottish voters would be impressed that the Lib Dems had the courage to tackle the deficit forcefully.

he isn't even going to be living in scotland in the next few years
