Dear All
The Scottish budget this year has been passed again.
79 votes to 48!
Despite offering every Budget concession demanded by Labour Party, they showed “total hypocrisy” again by voting against it.
It seems that even getting what he wants isn’t good enough for the ‘East Coast Weasel’ Labour MSP Iain Gray.
How can you get what you want and vote against?
Andy Kerr, after the vote was then running a narrative of denial on telly shows such as Newsnight Scotland.
He looked less than comfortable as he tried to fly a kite.
But the wind wasn’t with him in the same way as the majority of Holyrood.
79 votes to 46!
So, who is the biggest political loser of the budget?
Patrick Harvie of the Green Party, him and his co pilot, the ‘dreadful twosome’ cut off their noses to spite their faces again.
Harvie isn’t a politician in my opinion rather an ‘advocate of causes’.
For the Scottish Tories, they got a little something to keep the theme of ‘principled opposition’ on the go.
The Lib Dems got a few bits chucked in their direction over student bursaries which they ran with, pure electioneering on their part however to distance themselves from English Lib Dems and their disastrous tuition fees debacle.
Their vote in Scotland took a hit.
Lothians independent Margo MacDonald secured £400,000 for Edinburgh’s capital status.
The second biggest losers were the Labour Party.
Andy Kerr, said:
“The Cabinet Secretary has chosen his priorities. The country will soon have the chance to choose their priorities. A budget is a test of your values, a test of who you are and what you stand for”.
And all Labour stands for is the rich.
The director of CBI Scotland, Mr Iain McMillan, regarded by some as a Labour mouthpiece said:
“There are some positive changes to the original Budget. However, we do believe the Government could have done more to signal a real intention to reform our public services and give Scottish taxpayers better value for money while freeing up additional funds to invest in growing our economy.”
Reform of public services other than the new national Police Force and Fire Service will be on the agenda if the current government is returned after May.
There isn’t the time to do justice to this issue because of the election, 85 days and Scotland has to make a choice, continue forward as we are at present or return the nightmare of Labour.
We have a better health service; do we really want the Labour Party destroying all that good work?
Yours sincerely
