Dear All
One of the things about the Tommy Sheridan Case which is a fact is that people will be lying.
For the jury this is a case which isn’t straight forward as many sub issues will come into play.
The SSP witnesses give a different version of than Sheridan’s Solidarity witnesses.
They have an ongoing feud.
Anvar Khan a key witness for the prosecution has been exposed as a liar. What weight can be put on her evidence it has been shown that she has repeatedly lied in the public domain?
I would say that the jury would have to disregard her testimony as unsafe, completely unsafe.
Ian Campbell a member of the SSP is a witness who says something quite damning against a previous Sheridan witness called John Penman.
His testimony in Court is that Sheridan’s witness, John Penman said that he would be "prepared to lie for Tommy Sheridan."
The more this trial goes on, the more I am convinced that the jury will head towards a verdict of not proven.
The 9th November SSP executive meeting (the "9/11" meeting) is another key incident in the case because so much damage has been done to Sheridan by this. Sheridan asked Campbell who had told him that Mr Sheridan had made admissions there.
Campbell then rattled off a list of Morag Balfour, Ken Ferguson, Felicity Garvie, Pam Currie and Alison Kane.
Sheridan put it to Campbell if he would be "surprised to hear" that neither Morag Balfour or Ken Ferguson had been at the executive that night.
Ian Campbell replied:
"yes, aye."
So, the jury will have to again seriously question what weight Campbell’s evidence has, in the main.
What is interesting is that Alex Prentice QC for the Crown declined to re-examine Campbell and he stepped down from the witness stand.
The fact that Prentice didn’t re-examine is interesting and a victory for Tommy Sheridan.
There is a long way to go but with key Crown witnesses being exposed as liars, the ongoing feud between the SSP and Solidarity, I think that Sheridan may have turned a corner.

You're kidding, George. Sheridan has not managed to turn a corner, at all.
ReplyDeleteLet's hear what else is said before we decide, though.
I would be surprised if the jury did not take the video seriously.

They're all liars... police, lawyers, solicitors, barristers, QC's, Sheriff's, Judge's and Lords... and anyone else in a 'court-room'.

This lying, vain, imbecile is gonna get what he deserves... a long stretch, as a guest of the State! He really did think that he could walk on water... so, so, wrong, Tommy!
