SNP select local champion and Councillor Billy McAllister to fight Glasgow North East at election, excellent decision

Dear All

The Scottish National Party is proud to announce the selection of local champion Billy McAllister as the candidate for the Glasgow North East Constituency.

20 years of community activism behind him is very much on Glasgow’s side.

Billy McAllister has been a Glasgow councillor since 2006 and is deputy leader of the SNP opposition at Glasgow City Council.

I can genuinely say that I am pleased with his selection; it is the right move by the SNP.

Billy McAllister has been a tirelessly worker for the people in the north of city to make their lives better.

He is noted for his attempts to rid the city of organised crime, corruption and council mismanagement.

Billy said;

“we need more jobs, better housing, increased investment and a crackdown on crime. This city and its people are wonderful. We have great potential. But, after 13 years of ineffectual UK New Labour rule and decades of a heartless New Labour council, the people of North East Glasgow are crying out for change. Let’s make a difference”.

As well as Billy, the SNP have one of the best forward thinking teams in Glasgow SNP.

Anne McLaughlin MSP commented;

"The people of Glasgow North East couldn't have a better champion fighting their corner in Westminster. Billy McAllister has show courage and determination when standing up to some heavy gangsters and if he can do that, he can definitely stand up to the likes of Gordon Brown and David Cameron."

Bob Doris MSP added;

"I have been proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Billy McAllister fighting by his side over the years against organised crime and for social justice. Cllr McAllister is an excellent candidate, a real local champion who would shake up the London parties and deliver for both Glasgow North East and Scotland".

A good decision, now the SNP have a local candidate to take on weak Labour MP William Bain who has done nothing for the area and has airbrush it out at Westminster.

Bain’s record is appalling.

Yours sincerely
