Have you ever wondered how Corrupt Scotland operates?
It is actually quite simple; people at the ‘top’ of Scotland’s social elite carve up the jobs and positions amongst themselves.
People at the bottom end of society are more or less permanently excluded from quango boards.
Linda McKay MBE makes a good salary as college principal of Forth Valley College.
£122,000-a-year!
On top of that she is the new convener of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority.
Her second job worth £20,000 a year!
As convenor I think you can be fairly certain that when she takes time off from the College to attend board meetings for that authority, money won’t be deducted from her college salary.
In effect the taxpayer will be paying her twice!
Forth Valley College is the fifth largest college Scotland, based in Alloa and Falkirk.
They are in the process of having to make in the region of around £3 million in cuts to try and solve their budgetary problems.
But McKay can take ‘time out’ to do another job.
The whole system in Scotland is corrupt.
In the spirit of copying others Ms McKay has gone for the line of least mental resistance, ‘sacking’ people through a voluntary severance and early retirement scheme.
What won’t be leaving is the work!
At present there is a 90-day consultation under way with teaching unions on scrapping dozens of posts, but we can be fairly certain that people are getting dumped.
As well as shedding jobs, they are also copying other higher education institutions by going through a restructuring of departments.
I think we can be fairly certain that is the limit of their abilities.
If the photocopier breaks down then it will create a ‘management’ crisis.
With people facing the ‘sack’ with an imminent round of redundancies, Ms McKay has been ‘lucky’ to feather her nest ever further by taking a lucrative second job that will boost her £122,000-a-year college salary greatly.
She was already ‘parked’ on the National Park Authority board as a member, now she steps up and gets ‘elected’ as the convener of the body.
It wasn’t a public election, the people never decided; it was done in secret behind closed doors.
That is how corrupt Scotland works.
Oh and McKay has a time commitment of eight days a month on a daily rate of £199.
£199 a day!
Her duties such as they are will be fulfilled at evenings, weekends and during the daytime.
Does this mean during college time?
A spokesperson for the Educational Institute of Scotland, said:
“The paramount concern for this EIS FELA branch at present is to defend the jobs of our members which are currently under threat. The decision on whether the principal can justify taking on a second job at this time of crisis in Further Education, clearly rest with her and her employers, who are the Forth Valley board of management”.
And her employers should be putting an ultimatum to her, choose.
Labour MSP Cathy Peattie said:
“I am really concerned about the prospect of losing jobs, and the devastating impact it will have on lecturers and students. I also think that the management at the college seems top heavy.”
Peattie was noticeably and fashionable quiet on corrupt Scotland as an MSP.
Now she squeaks, how long till May 5th?
Defending McKay, National Park chief executive Fiona Logan said:
“We are already seeing the benefits of having highly-qualified, accomplished and skilled people such as Linda McKay on our board. Linda brings a wealth of experience with her and her relationships at a local and national level are exactly what the National Park Authority now needs over the next few challenging years.”
Bullshit, anyone with reasonable intelligence can do her job.
Hugh Hall, the chairman of Forth Valley College, said:
“The board of management at Forth Valley College is proud and delighted that Linda has been elected to undertake such a high-profile role as convener of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority. Linda has worked tirelessly for Forth Valley College over the years, for staff and students and we are confident that she will continue to deliver all aspects of her leadership role within the college, whilst also successfully leading the National Park as convener.”
When she turns and if it doesn’t interfere with her other commitments!

Checking on Hugh Hall, I found the College register of interests, he is the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Hugh Hall like McKay is part of the same hypocrisy; does his salary get reduced for his time off at Forth Valley College?
One hand washes the other, corrupt Scotland 2011.
I think there is a case for legislation through the Scottish Parliament limiting the activities of these people or at the least recovering taxpayers money which is being used so people like McKay can't get a ‘gong’ from the Queen.
This is one of the scandals in Scotland on a par with Westminster expenses scandal, questions which springs immediately to mind, are how many other university and college employees are getting paid while working for other organisations and is this fraud?

College employees on the brink of losing their homes and suffering a negative impact on their livelihoods and the likes of this woman rub their hands in glee. The day of reckonong is coming.
Can this be stopped surely its unethical who funds this college.
